2)! Expressive and memory research in psychology: describing past research and finding
and writing about newest research (library databases introduction) (first iteration of
literature reviewtoo much choice!)
3)! Case study of developmental stages (Erikson and Piaget): project involved our
students working with Humphrey Elementary third graders in our Environmental
Tech Center gardens. Kids chose things they wanted as photos for a photo wood-
transfer project with our students the following week. Our students were naturalistic
observation for the developmental stages. Final meeting with third graders was
bringing their photo wood transfers to their school classroom. Worked well. HIP
practice: service learning/experiential learning/field work.
4)! Final short reflection on learning and note-taking (not as focused as next iteration)

1)! Revision of walking assignment: walking and one other activity


2)! Expressive writing literature review. Reviewed article together in class as reading
activity. Choice only of one article for most current research only in the area of
expressive writing. Created outline format for essay.
3)! Human Library event as HIP practice for case study. Outline format for essay.
4)! Letter to incoming LC students on relationships among note-taking, research, and
thinking like a psychologistoutline format given.

Spring 2018

1)! Further revision of walking assignment: walking only and use of new biofeedback lab
space for self-study.
2)! Expressive writing lit. review: will further assess scaffolding.
3)! Human Library event case study: will assess what worked, what did not for
scaffolding for case study.
4)! Letter: will assess what other kinds of qualitative feedback would be useful.
