UPPER SCHOOL PERFORMING ARTS ELECTIVE

PASSION PROJECT
If you cant figure out your purpose, figure out your passion.
For your passion will lead you right into your purpose. --
Bishop T. D. Jakes

You will have the opportunity to choose a PASSION PROJECT, an


area of study within the Performing Arts that you would like to
pursue: MUSICAL THEATER, WRITING, OR FILM.

Possibilities might include:


-Working on a song (and scene) from a musical.
-Writing and performing a scene, monologue, sketch, or stand-up
routine.
-Working on a published scene or monologue from film.
-Writing and shooting a film scene.
-Or anything else you can devise.

The Process
1. Brainstorm
2. Select your Passion
3. Create and turn in Passion Project Proposal Form.
4. Create a plan for you to complete your project
successfully, giving yourself mini-deadlines.
5. Execute that plan! Rehearse, write, sing, shoot, act, tap.
6. Get feedback from teachers and peers.
7. Perform or present.
8. Celebrate!

TIMELINE:

Week of November 13th: Project introduction. Brainstorm.


Research. Select your passion.
Passion Project Proposal Form due by the end of the
week.

Week of November 20th: Happy Thanksgiving!

Week of November 27th: Create a plan and start it.


Select, write, sing, rehearse, etc.

Week of December 4th (Pride and Prejudice): Keep


working. Get feedback. Start finishing up by end of
the week.

Week of December 11th: Performances and presentations.
