TITLE: E-84/E-85 Error Code Repair Tip

MODELS:
NE595N0PBSR/AC, NE597N0PBSR/AC, NE599N1PBSR/AC
CONDITION:

1. If an E-84 or E-85 error code appear on the ranges display, this indicates that the
Cooktops Right Side Inverter Module could be defective.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

2. First of all, confirm that 240 volts is getting to the Range externally. If not, this could be the reason for
the E84 and E85 error codes (mains power low or full 240 volts is not present)

3. If the mains-power lines are good, disassemble the cooktop as shown in the service manual. The
inverter modules are located beneath the induction element mounting platen (see Photo 1)

4. A defective Right side inverter Module can be confirmed by checking the white ceramic cartridge fuse
located on this board (Photo 3) and 240 volt power levels on the board as well (Photo 4).
If this fuse is open circuit and power is good, change the board (a new fuse will only blow immediately)
Please do not bypass this fuse.

5. If the fuse is not open, check all interconnectors between the Main Control Board (Photo 5), in the
backsplash of the range and the Right Side Inverter panel (Photo 6).

6. Check the 240 volt internal wiring harness if 240 volts is not there (Photo 2 and 4).
