Heat Loss Data
1. Introduction
This Document gives information on the Heat Produced by the electrical cabinets during their operations and with
their optimum operating capacity.
This data is to be used only for the sizing and selection of Air conditioners. This document contains information only
about the cabinets supplied by CMI Automation. However it is recommended to consider the load of other
equipment, ambient and human load and applicable factors while selecting the Air conditioner capacity.
Data provided in this document is based on various inputs from the Product manufacturer and information
provided in their catalogues.
In second chapter all data of electrical heat loss is provided area wise. This data is calculated at optimum loading
pattern (typically 100%) in idealistic conditions.
Third chapter gives information on the requirement of air quality and ventilation norms as per EN60721.
The purpose of this document is to provide the data to calculate the air conditioning system hence heat load data
other than ECR Such as Motor and Field Component are not provided.

Heat Loss Data
1. Product supplier has recommended the cool air flow rate from 0.17m3s to 1.48 m3s throughout
the product range.
2. The Electric Room shall have climatic conditions as per EN60721 3K1. The room temperature
should be 200C to 250C. In limit range of 180C to 270C.
3. The relative humidity should be 30% to 60% and the absolute humidity should be in range 3.5 to
15 g.kg-1
4. The air in electric room should be free from any mechanical, solid, or powder dust.
5. The Air should be free from any kind of corrosive gases or shall be in range as specified in
EN60721-3-3 or EN 60068. (Typically Sulphur dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, hydrogen fluoride,
chlorine etc.)
6. The cool air entering electric room should be free from cooling oil, cooling solvent or any kind of
moistures.
7. The electric room ambient should not expose to direct wind, sunlight and its wall shall able to
bear the pressure differences created due to Air cooling system in Electric room.
8. Cool air inlet and hot air exhaust should be planned in such a way that it shall not be create hot
or cold spot in the electric room.
9. The cool air inlet often creates water sprinkle due to malfunction of system or atmospheric
conditions. The cool air inlet shall plan in line with cabinets IP protection class.
