GALERA DE LA BIODIVERSIDAD(BIODIVERSITY GALLERY)

Existe una increble abundancia y variedad de vida en la Tierra. Esta rampa da la bienvenida al
visitante al mundo de la ciencia natural y a la explosin de vida en Panam.

(There is an incredible variety and variety of life on Earth. This ramp welcomes the visitor to the
world of natural science and the explosion of life in Panama.)

PANAMARAMA

Vivimos rodeados por un sinfn de seres y comunidades vivientes. Un espacio de proyeccin de

tres alturas y diez pantallas que sumerge al visitante en una presentacin audiovisual de las
maravillas naturales que conforman todos los ecosistemas de Panam.

(We live surrounded by a large number of beings and living communities. A projection space of
three heights and ten screens that immerses the visitor in an audiovisual presentation of the
natural wonders that make up all the ecosystems of Panama.)

EL PUENTE SURGE(THE BRIDGE SURGE)

Panam es un puente vivo que surgi del mar hace tres millones de aos. Las gigantescas fuerzas
del interior de la Tierra que formaron el istmo se presentan con tres esculturas tectnicas de
catorce metros de altura, en un espacio de encuentro tctil y fsico con el mundo geolgico.

(Panama is a living bridge that emerged from the sea three million years ago. The gigantic forces of
the interior of the Earth that formed the isthmus are presented with three tectonic sculptures of
fourteen meters high, in a space of tactile and physical encounter with the geological world.)

EL GRAN INTERCAMBIO(THE GREAT EXCHANGE)

Cuando el istmo se cerr, se produjo un gran intercambio de especies entre Norte y Sudamrica.
Al visitante lo recibe una estampida de esculturas animales que representan a 72 de las especies
que empezaron a cruzar nuestro istmo desde hace casi 3 millones de aos.
(When the isthmus was closed, there was a great exchange of species between North and South
America. The visitor receives a stampede of animal sculptures representing 72 of the species that
began to cross our isthmus for almost 3 million years.)

LA HUELLA HUMANA(THE HUMAN FOOTPRINT)

Los seres humanos somos parte integral de la naturaleza. En un espacio abierto parcialmente al
aire libre, diecisis columnas que cuentan la historia de los humanos en el istmo y sus
interacciones con la naturaleza de Panam a lo largo del tiempo.

(Human beings are an integral part of nature. In a partially open-air open space, sixteen columns
tell the story of humans on the isthmus and their interactions with Panama's nature over time.)

OCANOS DIVIDIDOS (DIVIDED OCEANS)

Cuando Panam emergi, dos ocanos muy diferentes se formaron, cambiando la vida en toda la
Tierra. Dos acuarios semicilndricos de gran altura mostrarn cmo el Pacfico y el Caribe
evolucionaron al quedar separados por la creacin del istmo.

(When Panama emerged, two very different oceans were formed, changing life throughout the
Earth. Two semi-cylindrical aquariums of great height will show how the Pacific and the Caribbean
evolved when separated by the creation of the isthmus.)

LA RED VIVIENTE (THE LIVING NETWORK)

Todos los seres vivos estn ligados e interactan de maneras complejas y muchas veces invisibles.
Una enorme escultura, a la vez planta, animal, insecto y microorganismo, producir en el visitante
el efecto de estar en una dimensin donde todas las criaturas tienen la misma importancia.

(All living beings are linked and interact in complex and often invisible ways. An enormous
sculpture, at once plant, animal, insect and microorganism, will produce in the visitor the effect of
being in a dimension where all the creatures have the same importance.)
PANAM ES EL MUSEO (PANAMA IS THE MUSEUM)

El mayor asombro espera al visitante fuera del museo. Paneles y pantallas mostrarn las relaciones
entre la biodiversidad de Panam y el mundo, y ofrecern acceso a una red virtual que vincular al
museo con el resto del pas.

(The greatest astonishment awaits the visitor outside the museum. Panels and screens will show
the relationships between the biodiversity of Panama and the world, and offer access to a virtual
network that will link the museum with the rest of the country.)
