THE JUDICATURE (RULES OF COURT) ACT
1. These Rules may be cited as the Legal Profession (Enrolment and Practising
Certificate) (Amendment) Rules, 2012, and shall be read and construed as one with the
Legal Profession (Enrolment and Practising Certificate Fees) Rules, 1971 (hereinafter
referred to as the principal Rules), and shall come into operation on the 1st day of January,
2013.
2. The fees payable by Attorneys-at-Law who are called in other jurisdictions will be
calculated based on the date on which they were first admitted to practice.

3. Part II of the First Schedule to the principal Rules is hereby deleted and the following
substituted therefor-
(1) Attorneys-at-law ofless than five years' standing
(subject to paragraph (5)) 10,000.00
(2) Attorneys-at-law of five years' standing but
less than fifteen years' standing 20,000.00
(3) Attorneys-at-law of fifteen years standing and
over 30,000.00
(4) Attorneys-at-law who have retired from practice 10,000.00
(5) Attorneys-at-law in their first year of practice who
apply for a practising certificate by September 1 in
that year 5,000.00
