Upgrade policy
Infor EAM 11.3.2 provides access to all the latest features in the system. The necessary upgrade
scripts will be provided to the Infor Cloud personnel for implementation for cloud customers.
New installations will default to the MULTIORG installation parameter being set to ON. If a
MULTIORG=OFF install is needed, this must be specified in the installation configuration file
prior to install.
Backup any custom images that have been created, such as for Start Center, that are saved on
the application server.
Flex SQLThere are a few scenarios within the application where creating a record can result in
the record being created and then immediately updated. All known scenarios occur on the
R5EVENTS table. With the introduction of new features with each release, it is possible this
could occur on any table. If Update Flex SQL exists on a table where this scenario occurs, it will
fire when an Insert is done on the screen. If this happens, it may be necessary to modify the
Update Flex SQL to compare Date Created to System Date or to look at the value of the
XXX_Updated field.
The screen layouts are optimized for a screen resolution of 1600x900.
The names of the Field IDs in web service requests for grids are now all in lower case. Prior to
Infor EAM 11.0, mixed case was allowed.
Oracle Forms v8.2 is not supported with this version. The last supported version is Infor
EAM v8.5, which has been tested and certified to run with the appropriate Oracle Forms patch.
It is REQUIRED that each customer request new CD Keys in order to run Infor10 EAM v10.1 or
later releases. The CD Key security system was redesigned with the Infor10 EAM v10.1. Using
the old style CD Keys may not grant all appropriate features.
Important: The following features in Infor EAM will be phased out over the next several releases in favor of much
improved functionality. In the meantime, development on these existing features has been halted.
Customers using these features must consider phasing out their use and replace them with the new
features listed below.
Support has been removed for World Weather Online for downloading temperature data.
The page layout for the following screens will be deleted and recreated for the following screens
for ALL user groups. This was necessary because of extensive changes made to these screens.
Any Screen Designer changes that were made for these screens will need to be made again
after the upgrade is complete:
o Nonconformities
o Nonconformities tab on Work Orders
Due to changes in the way Nonconformity records are saved, backward compatibility is not
supported for the following schemas.
o MP3400_GetNonconformity_001
o MP3396_GetNonconformityDefault_00
o MP3397_AddNonconformity_001
o MP3398_SyncNonconformity_001

Due to changes in the way Nonconformity records are saved, the following schemas have been
removed.
o MP5761_UpdateNonconformityClosed_001
o MP5762_UpdateNonconformityRepaired_001
o MP5763_ResetNonconformityClosedRepaired_001
Several changes have been made to make the Login page of Infor EAM more secure.
o Support for the PASSWORD URL variable has been removed. If a value is passed,
it will be ignored.
o The UITHEME, APPNAME and LGNDISCL URL variables will not work if they
contain any of the following characters: carriage return (\r and \n), &, _, %, ', #, `, :, <,
>, !
Known issues
The following is a list of known issues with the latest version of Infor EAM. Many of these are outside
the control of the Infor EAM development team and relate to issues within particular browsers. Our
team will pursue solutions to these issues in the future, but many will require changes in the
associated browsers to accomplish this.
Browser (if
applicable) Issue
Chrome The following shortcut keys are hard coded in the browser and therefore cannot be
used by the Infor EAM application: CTRL+N (New Record) and CTRL+W (Exit
Screen Designer Preview Mode)
Report Studio and Query Studio are not supported. This is currently a limitation of
the Cognos application.
Running Infor EAM reports with the Chrome browsers works well with the Chromes
native pdf viewer. Some issues have been reported with using Chrome and the
Adobe pdf viewer plugin.
Safari Safari has a feature that by default does not allow you to use the Tab key to cycle
through all the fields on a screen. In particular, we have noticed Safari will skip
Checkbox fields. To turn off this feature, follow the following steps.
Access Safari Preferences from the browser menu.
Click the Advanced icon.
Select "Press Tab to highlight each item on a webpage" and close settings screen.
Change will take place immediately.
Safari has an issue where if a request takes too long (approximately 10 seconds),
the browser will give a network_err error. This can commonly occur on screens
where importing or exporting of large files happens such as on the Configuration
Manager screen. However, on a slow connection, it could happen on any screen.
Report Studio and Query Studio are not supported. This is currently a limitation of
the Cognos application.
All Changing the value of the DEFORG install parameter is not supported. It must
remain set to *.
All If the same Custom Field is setup on both a * class and a specific class and both
those classes are valid for a record, this will cause the system to believe a change
has been made on the record as soon as it is loaded.
All IDM will not support EAM based security via the webpart or the IDM client.
When IDM is enabled, the Copy feature of our documents tab will be hidden.
Documents added directly inside IDM client will not show up in EAM unless the user
manually adds the appropriate attribute data.
All Only a zoom level of 100% (i.e. not zoomed) is supported.
Browser (if
applicable) Issue
All If the table r5alltext (the Text tab of Languages) is modified for a delivered language
(EN, ES, etc), the changes may be overridden by patches and will be overridden by
upgrades. This will not be obvious to the end users unless the
Refresh Language option is used.
All The comments editor will always have black text on white backgrounds, regardless
of the theme used. This is due to a bug in webkit.
All The Reset Screen Layout button inside Screen Designer does not update the
Dataspy when moving fields to/from Not Available.
Operating environments
Infor does not ship any Oracle tools or software; only Infor EAM for Oracle, Infor EAM for SQL
Server, iProcure, Databridge and Infor EAM Mobile software are distributed from Greenville, SC. It is
the responsibility of the customer to acquire the correct Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server software.
See the Infor EAMTM Product Family Version 11.3.2 Software Requirements for more information.
Administration
The Dataspies tab also includes an Add Users popup option. This option will enable a user to select
one or more users to add access to the selected Dataspy. When the user selects Users in the
popup and clicks Submit, the system will make a copy of the selected Dataspy and add it to each of
the selected Users.
Configuration Manager
The EAM Configuration Manager has been enhanced with several new fields to provide more details
about data imports and import progress.
The Status screen displays details for the Session ID and import attempt as well as the date and
time for each portion of the import process and the number of records processed. The screen
also includes a new option, Retry Import, to restart an import if any issues arise.
The Status Details popup includes information about the table currently being imported and the
date and time for each portion of the import process. The information on the Status Details
screen will be refreshed every 60 seconds for the duration of the import.
Views
EAM has been enhanced with a new screen to enable users to create Views against the database.
While there are limitations on the complexity of the grids users can create with Grid Designer, the
Views screen will address these limitations and extend the functionality of EAM. Views can be
referenced by User Defined Grids, allowing users to leverage outer joins and unions, which are not
support on the User Defined Grid screen directly.
Documents
To support IDM (Infor Document Management) integration, the following fields were added to the
Documents screen:
IDM Document Type
Effective Date
Expiration Date
Title
UDF fields
If the Install Parameter IDMSRVR is set to NULL, IDM Document Type is hidden. The UDF fields
are available to be used but can only be configured on the Warranty screen which shares the
UDFs.
Equipment Module
Nonconformities
All nonconformity data in previous releases resided in one table. In this new release nonconformities
now have a separate record for the header data. Observations can be associated to this header
record whenever required. This change to the underlying data model has the following important
implications:
The previous Nonconformities screen that you were used to and accessed from the main
menu is now called Nonconformity Observations. This screen still looks and feels the same.
The nonconformity header and observations are shown together as a combination and,
depending on the configuration setup, header and observation data can both be edited at the
same time. Some notable changes on this screen are
o Introduction of the nonconformity header Status and a Department field.
o Closed and Repaired checkbox have been removed.
o Purge function has been removed.
o Capital Planning Request creation moved to the new Nonconformities screen.
The Nonconformities tab on the Work Order screen has undergone similar changes and also
shows data from the header and the observation, as if it was all in one record, on the same
screen. This tab has not been renamed.
A new Nonconformities screen was developed that represents the nonconformity header
data and the Observations tab on this new screen manages all the observation data.
A new status was introduced for the header nonconformity. Basically there are only two
system choices, either open or closed. The status codes used so far and the related status
authorization matrix are all moved down one level to the observation. Most restrictions on
status changes on observation level have also been removed, and the purge status was
removed altogether.
IMPORTANT: Status authorization on header level may have to be defined.
The split also introduced requirements to synchronize observation data with header data at
certain user defined moments, both in the area of status and condition. Rather than
introducing more organization options to control the behavior, a new Nonconformities Setup
screen was developed. This screen offers all the old options and several new ones as well.
On the Status Dependency tab of this screen you can make sure that the header
nonconformity status is automatically set to a certain value when an observation of the
nonconformity is set to a certain value. For example, when the first observation goes to
status approved, the header nonconformity status may go from open to open and verified.
The following table describes where fields are now stored after the split:
Nonconformity Header Field Observation Field

Linear equipment From and To data
All User Defined Fields
As you can see some data resides in both tables. Severity and Condition Index for example are
associated to the observation, as they can change over time. Both fields are also associated to the
nonconformity header to represent the current severity of the nonconformity.
The Nonconformities functional brief describes the nonconformity functionality in a lot more detail. Highly
recommended reading.
updated. If multiple are found, or if no updated records exist, it will use the earliest
observation in that set.
7. The nonconformity header status will be closed if an approved observation is found where Closed
or Repaired is selected. Otherwise the nonconformity header status will be open.
8. If more than one observation of a nonconformity references a capital planning requests only one
of these references will be copied to the header nonconformity. The remaining references will be
lost.
9. Any user defined grids and alerts related to nonconformities may also be influenced by the
changes applied to the data model.
10. All nonconformity related organization options have been converted to the new Nonconformities
Setup screen as follows:
NONCSTAT Use Observation Status Copied from NONCSTAT if Yes, otherwise set to
Automatic.
Linear Equipment
Several enhancements were introduced relating to linear equipment:
1. On the Segments and Routes tab of the Equipment screen a new organization option
SRSTSYNC is available with which the equipment structure can be synchronized. If the
option is activated new segment records and route records inserted on these tabs will also
create a corresponding equipment structure record. Deletion of these structure records can
also be handled when records are deleted from these tabs.
2. Segment Parents - This new tab on the equipment screens serves the same purpose as the
Segments tab. But rather than adding Segments to the header Route, you are adding Routes
to the selected linear equipment Segment.
3. Route Parents - This new tab on the equipment screens serves the same purpose as the
Routes tab. But rather than adding Routes to the header Right of Way, you are adding Right
of Ways to the selected linear equipment Route.
4. The Linear Overview has undergone several enhancements:
a. In preferences hide segments and routes, or compress segments into one line using
the default segment type, rather than one line per segment type.
b. In preferences control which routes and segments are displayed and in which
sequence.
c. Define multiple user preferences per user.
d. Add nonconformities to the list of filters. The list now includes work orders, inspection
results, checklist and nonconformities. It is also possible to hide this node now.
e. Double clicking a bar with an equipment will hyperlink to that equipment.
5. The Trace Route popup on the work order screen now offers an option to create MEC child
work orders or regular child work orders. And if the user decides for regular child work orders
there is also an option to copy the work order activities from the parent. By default these
options are hidden and set the create MEC work orders, but screen designer can be used to
set the default values such that regular child work orders are created instead or to make
them available to te end user for dynamic selection as required.
6. A new installation parameter ALTPOINT was introduced to show the entered From Point and
To Point, in most places where these fields are used, in an additional field and alternate
format. The alternate From Point and To Point fields are active if the parameter is set to
PLUS100.
For example, the From Point value of 12345 will be displayed as 123+45 in the alternate
From Point.
Asset Inventory
Ability to filter sessions based on the inventory verification date, has been added on the parameters
tab for the asset inventory. On the inventory results tab, the system will exclude all assets, with an
inventory verification date later than the date entered on the parameters tab.
On the Inventory results tab, a new action item has been introduced to mark an asset as Not
Found. When trying to approve the session from this tab, a new Organization option has been
introduced, to set the resolution of assets whose observed location is blank, or to block the user from
approving the session.
CODE: AINVAPP
DESCRIPTION: Determines resolution of the asset when the asset inventory session is
approved, and the Observed Physical/Bin Location is NULL. If FOUND, then system sets the
Resolution of the asset to "Asset Found". If NOTFOUND, system sets the resolution of the asset
to "Asset Not Found". If BLOCK, the system does not allow approving the session if any
unresolved assets exist.
DEFAULT VALUE: FOUND
Work Module
Work Orders
Update the Reference Description and the Geographical Reference based on the selected From
Reference Point or To Reference Point.
Miscellaneous
Import Utility
A new checkbox called Force Update was added to Import Utility as an option to update existing
data only and not insert data.
Revision Control
Instead of having to specify an Approval List in update mode on revision controlled screens, an
enhancement has been made to allow for the entering of an Approval List in insert mode. The
following screens will also be impacted by this improvement: Material Lists, Routes, PM Schedules,
Task Plans, Job Plans.
In addition, on the Approval List screen itself, two new checkboxes have been added to differentiate
between Revision Control Approvers and Reservation Calendar Owners on the record view. The
approvers tab has been renamed to Users to reflect these changes.
On the equipment screens (Assets/Systems/Positions/Locations) the new Reservation Calendar
Owners List lookup field has been added, which will list approval list records marked as
Reservation Calendar Owners.
On the reservation calendar screen, if the equipment has the Reservation Calendar Owners List field
filled in, then all users as part of the list can edit the record.
Workspace Moves
User Defined Fields (UDFs) were added to the Workspace Moves screen.
Physical Inventory
The Physical Inventory screen now supports eRecords.
Screens | Texts
Added a Tab Name field to the Texts tab of the Screens screen. Note that this field is available, but
was not added to the default Dataspy.
Non-PO Receipts
User Defined Fields (UDFs) were added to the Non-PO Receipts screen. In addition, these UDFs
are also displayed on the following screens:
Internal Repair Receipts
Physical Inventory
Store-to-Store Issues
Store-to-Store Receipts
Supplier Returns
Hospitality Configuration
The following changes were made to EAM screens and are applicable ONLY when the @HMSINT
installation parameter is enabled (i.e. InforHMS is integrated to InforEAM). The Category Name and
Minor fields already exist in InforHMS on the Work Order. The value of the Minor checkbox and
whether it is editable or not depends on the Category Name value. These fields have now been added
in EAM (Minor already existed on the Work Order Hospitality screen) and the same constraints applied
to reduce the opportunity that EAM users can create EAM Work Orders that generate error conditions
when these Work Orders are processed into InforHMS:
Note: The Category Name field is only displayed when @HMSINT is enabled. In addition, the
following behavior only occurs when @HMSINT is enabled.
Service Codes (renamed to Problem Codes following installation of the Hospitality
Configuration): Added new Category Name field. The field is read only and will display the
Category Name associated to the Type selected for the Problem Code). It will only be displayed
when @HMSINT is enabled.
System Codes (renamed to Problem Codes following installation of the Hospitality
Configuration): Added new Category Name field. It will only be displayed when @HMSINT is
enabled and the Work order type entity is selected. Category Name valid values are Out of
Order and Out of Inventory. Associate the appropriate Category Name to each work order type
integrated to InforHMS.
o Category Name value is not stored here.
Work Order Hospitality
o Type is protected in update mode. In previous releases, Type could be changed in
update mode. Whenever the Type is selected/changed in insert mode the system will
set the values for Category Name and Minor as defined below.
o Added new, read only Category Name field. It will be populated with the Category
Name associated to the selected work order Type. The field will only be displayed when
@HMSINT is enabled.
o Minor If Category Name = Out of Order AND a Guest is currently occupying the
selected Room the system will select and protect this checkbox. If the Room is
unoccupied the system will unselect Minor and it will remain optional. If Category
Name = Out of Inventory the system will unselect and protect this checkbox.
InforHMS does not allow a Category Name of Out of Order when the room is
occupied unless it is a Minor WO.
InforHMS does not allow the WO to be Minor if Category Name is Out of
Inventory.
Guest Incident Requests
o Added new, read only Category Name field. It will be populated with the Category
Name associated to the work order Type of the selected Problem Code. The field will
only be displayed when @HMSINT is enabled.
Category Name is not stored here.
o Added new, optional Minor checkbox field.
o Minor - The same rules described for the Work Order Hospitality screen apply here as
well.
Work Orders
o See Work Order Hospitality changes defined above with the following exceptions:
Type can be changed in update mode for this screen i.e. same behavior as
previous releases.
Added new, optional Minor checkbox field.
Minor - The same rules described for the Work Order Hospitality screen apply
here as well.
Scheduled Start Date cannot be in the past.
Scheduled Start Date cannot be in the future when the WO Status is set to a
system status of Completed.
Scheduled Start Date cannot be in the past when the WO Status is set to a value
matching the CANCSTAT parameter.
Work orders cannot be deleted.
Call Center
o See Guest Incident Request changes defined above with the following exceptions:
Problem Code is the Service Code field on the Call Center screen (i.e. Service
Code boiler text is changed to Problem Code in the Hospitality Configuration).
GIS
EAM Side
Work Orders
Added Select Equipment From Map button/right click option to the Work Orders screen. When
selected, the system will display a map popup that allows the user to select 1 or more equipment,
including partial linear equipment, for inclusion on the work order.
This popup can be opened when the work order is in insert mode so that equipment can be selected
from the map. Once equipment is selected from the map the popup can be closed and the equipment
will be returned to the work order record view. From here the user can continue to enter data on the
work order prior to saving.
If the work order Equipment is populated, prior to opening the popup, the map will pan/zoom to the
proper extent to show the entered equipment. The equipment selection process can start from there.
If no Equipment is entered the map will open to its full extent.
When Submit is clicked inside the popup the system will retrieve the selected equipment (or segments if
defined in GIS see new parameter below) to the work order record view, overwriting the existing value
if only 1 equipment is selected; Else, all selected equipment will be returned to the Equipment tab for
the WO (i.e. multiple equipment work orders are created).
This popup contains the following unique capabilities:
A tracing tool (i.e. Select By Trace) which can be used to define starting and ending points of linear
equipment which need work. This tool easily allows users to identify the start of the work at a
specified location on the linear equipment then jump off onto another linear equipment and
continue the trace until the work end point. The traced path is highlighted and relevant
equipment, along with their selected From Point & To Point will be returned to the work order. The
trace tool is just one method of selection. Other, more familiar, selection tools are also included.
o The trace tool will snap to features by default as your cursor nears them making selection
more efficient; however, if you wish to disable snapping temporarily during selection then
click and hold the Ctrl key (Command key on Mac) on your keyboard during the tracing
process.
Each linear equipment that is highlighted on the map will have the From Point and To Point
displayed on the map in terms of the selected Reference System. For example, the From Point and
To Point can be displayed in feet if this is a defined reference system for the map. However, if the
map contains a second reference system, such as mileposts, the user can change the Reference
System to display the From Point and To Point in terms of mileposts (i.e. ability to translate
measures from one reference system to another).
Notes:
Because this popup is primarily intended for customers who maintain linear asset, all maps for
display here must be LRS (linear reference system) enabled i.e. The ESRI Roads & Highways
extension is required to create these maps.
This popup supports multiple maps so the user can use any of the maps for which they have
access in EAM.
Visible Layers popup each layer can be marked as selectable. Only equipment in selectable
layers will be highlighted, displayed in the equipment grid, and returned to the work order.
If the popup is opened in update mode, the system will NOT highlight equipment that is
currently on the work order as the popup is primarily intended to be used in creating the work
order. However, the system will attempt to zoom/pan to an extent that shows all current
equipment on the work order. The user can make a new selection. Any equipment selected in
the popup will always be added to the existing equipment on the Equipment tab for Work
Order. There is no option inside the popup to remove existing equipment prior to adding new
equipment to the work order.
Several new parameters have been created for use on this popup:
o GISLRSWO Defines whether the linear equipment (i.e. GIS routes) are returned to the
work order or if segments are returned to the work order. This parameter value can be
specified for each map in a multiple maps environment.
o GISLRSSL Defines LRS event layer that contains linear asset segments. These segments
must be integrated to EAM equipment to be eligible for retrieval to the work order. This
parameter value can be specified for each map in a multiple maps environment.
o GISLRSMM Determines if a 2nd map can be displayed inside the popup. The 2nd map will
be displayed simultaneously next to the primary map. This parameter value is only used if
the existing GISMAPS parameter is set to Organization or Department.
Maps
EAM HTML now supports the display of maps from ESRI ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGIS inside EAM. If
the customer has created a map service using ArcGIS Server and federated that server to a Portal for
ArcGIS, then the map can be displayed in EAM.
The ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGIS user credentials should be associated to the EAM user on the User
Setup screen in EAM. Whenever, the EAM user attempts to display a portal map the system will grab
the GIS user credentials for the logged in EAM using and pass them to the portal for authentication.
Notes:
Web maps from ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGIS are NOT supported.
The ESRI ArcGIS Server User & ESRI ArcGIS Server Password fields on the User Setup screen will
be used to associate the portal user to the EAM user. These are the same fields used to
associate the ArcGIS Server user to the EAM user when the customer is using secured map
services in ArcGIS Server instead of using a portal (i.e. traditional method of integrating/viewing
maps inside EAM).
The named portal user that is associated to the EAM user must have core User, Publisher or
Administrator role of Portal for ArcGIS. Otherwise, they will not be able to view these maps
inside EAM.
Administration
Grid Designer - Added new checkbox to the Grid Designer screen to indicate the grid will be used to
map work order fields to GIS event fields. The new checkbox is called GIS WO Field Mapping.
Notes:
See ESRI Side section below, ability to export EAM work orders to GIS for details.
When defining a grid so that EAM work orders can be synchronized into GIS the grid should be
work order based. In addition, the evt_code should be included on the Fields tab for the grid as
this is the key field used in the synchronization process.
