Your reputation is at stake. Of course, on that day of salvation, you didn͛t care what people
thought. You just realized your need for God and a Savior to be free from your sin and to have
eternal life. So, you put everything on the line͙your reputation, your friendships, your
relationships with your family, possibly your job and finances͙all to serve God!

Then one day͙

You͛re on your way to church; your mind is reeling from all the issues in your life. You find
yourself struggling with the way your life has turned. The strain on your face is evident, but
then, no one can see you because you are still in the car, driving. As soon as you turn into the
driveway at the church, your rub your hand over your face, take a deep breath, and find
yourself putting on that religious smile͙that look that says, ͞I͛ve been studying my Bible and
praying all morning͙I͛m fine͙how about you͙how are you doing?͟

You realize that you are no longer willing to put your reputation at risk even to get prayer for
your struggle. WHAT WOULD PEOPLE THINK͙

͙if they knew I was struggling with a porn addiction?

͙if they knew my marriage is falling apart?
͙if they knew that my business was struggling financially?
͙if they knew I may have cancer or some other health issue?
͙if they knew my son or daughter was living in a homosexual relationship?
͙if they knew that my dad was in prison for dealing drugs or murder?

And so, because of image͙to save face͙you suffer in silence, never gaining freedom. This is
spiritual narcissism, and if you keep it up͙you are handing your life back to the enemy of your
soul and you have taken Jesus off the throne as ruler of your life. All because of ͞what would
people think͟. Who is your Lord? Who is your king? We sing, ͞All Hail King Jesus͟ and yet, we
allow Satan to stop us͙because our reputation is at stake. By doing this, you allow Satan to be
ruler of your life.

Don͛t allow this to happen to you. And if it already is the scenario of your life, then repent͙call
someone. Forget your reputation and what ͞they͟ may think and gain the freedom you had
when you first asked Jesus to come into your life and be your King of kings and Lord of lords!
