 The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as the Global Goals,
are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy
peace and prosperity. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with its 17 goals,
represents the worlds plan of action for overcoming poverty while protecting the planet and
ensuring that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
A few goals related for oil and gas industry are also mention related to environment,
climate and energy for example Goal #3 which state that to ensure healthy lives and promote
well-being for all at all ages. This is to ensure oil and gas industries and processes to reduce
emission which lead to pollution to the environment and thus protect the health of nearby
communities. Besides, Goal #6 which to ensure a sustainable water management which allow
water from oil and gas processes to be treat before releasing to local water sources to ensure
no contaminants affecting the local water environment and community using it. Furthermore,
For Goal #8 is to ensure the sustainable and development of the economy. This is due to the
increase in employment rate and the growth of the energy sector. Goal #9 is to promote the
development of infrastructure of the area. Due to oil and gas industries industry growth, the
area is will be developed on par with the growth of the industry due to the demand of
industrialization. For Goal #11, companies are required to provide clean and efficient power
generation to ensure green energy and less waste. Goal #12 states that the use of sustainable
consumption and production patterns to increase energy efficiency, resource conservation
and reuse of renewable energy. Besides that, Goal #13 ensure all companies to reduce the
emission of greenhouse gases. For Goal #14 and #15 it ensure the protection of ocean and
land towards conserving the nature. Lastly, Goal #17 all companies is encourage to implement
the sustainable development and strengthen it through development of partnership.
