Apostrophes to form the possessive of nouns

A favorite of the Ferengi and Gollum, an apostrophe is used to show that a noun owns something. We
could say:

Luna possesses a wand.

However, it is much easier to just say:

Lunas wand.

There are five basic rules for making a noun possessive:

1. To form a possessive of a singular noun, simply add s.

Spocks ears

Lukes lightsaber

Voldermorts snake

Captain incoming message

If a singular noun with two or more syllables ends in s, you may

choose to show possession by adding just an apostrophe or a s. A
good hint is if you hear an ez sound you may want to only add an
apostrophe.
