1. INTRODUCTION
HHO gas technology is still considered experimental but it is a supplemental
fuel additive of sorts that could help you increase mileage, increase
horsepower, reduce emissions while providing a quieter and cleaner engine.
Energy must be conserved in one way or other so we are trying to implement
this in the future. This might be a good plan to save the environment .It is
clear from the various investigations and analyses that hydrogen has the
potential to be a very promising eco-friendly fuel. There is a misconception
about the Hydrogen gas on the demand is burning hybrid hydrogen or HHO
gas or Browns gas along with gasoline or diesel and due to this reason there
should be increasing in the MPG (Miles per Gallon). But it is different it
says that, HHO gas is a supplement or as additive to conventional engine
fuel system, it helps in combustion of the conventional engine fuels more
efficiently & effectively. HHO gas is also called as Browns gas or oxy-
hydrogen gas, it is water break in to two parts by the help of the electrolysis
process of water, and hence it is two mole of hydrogen & one mole of
oxygen. There is a device called a Hydrogen generator that uses a process
known as electrolysis to separate and extract both hydrogen and oxygen out
of water. Earlier developments for hydrogen generators were designed to
extract HHO or sometimes referred to as Browns Gas. They were originally
designed for welding and cutting purposes, but HHO can be used as a
supplemental fuel for internal combustion engines, even diesel motors. One
company has developed a patented pending design that is compact and can
fit into almost any vehicles motor compartment.
2. ABSTRACT
This paper is all about designing an efficient Hydrogen-Hydrogen-Oxygen
(HHO) generator, that produces Hydroxy gas which can be used to increase
the fuel efficiency in an internal combustion engine. In a combustion engine,
high pressure products of combustion expand through a turbine or a piston in
order to generate power. In this scenario the high pressure products act as a
working fluid. Currently there are three types of combustion engines in
practice; Spark ignition engine, Diesel engine and Turbine engine. In these
engines the fuel burning process seems to be very primitive. Hence,
unburned fuel remains after the burning process. This causes the air
pollution which is one of the biggest challenges that researches face in the
automobile industry. HHO generator is an efficient approach that used to
increase the fuel efficiency in a combustion engine by increasing the energy
produced per mole of fuel during the ignition process. As a result the amount
of unburned fuel in a combustion engine was reduced. The proposed
approach is based on an ordinary HHO generator. Although people use HHO
generators in practice a very little research has been carried out in
implementing an efficient system. In this research we mainly focused on
finding an efficient configuration of an ordinary HHO generator that is
efficient than an ordinary system. Here the generator was tested under
several conditions in order to determine a convenient design for an efficient
HHO generator. An efficient/optimal system is supposed to produce a large
volume of Hydroxy gas using a very little power. Therefore, such a system
will be able to increase the power of a spark ignition engine while reducing
the air pollution.

The photovoltaic (PV) solar cells convert sunlight directly into electricity. The PV
cell consists of two or more layers of semi-conducting material, mostly the silicon.
When it is exposed to light, holes and electrons are produced to go through the
external circuit as Direct Current (DC).The PV system works effectively when the
sun is shinning and more electricity is produced when the sunlight is very strong
and strikes the PV cells directly.

Some losses When designing and installing a solar-based renewable energy


system, it is very important to consider about the losses. This means accounting
for, and minimizing, losses associated with a variety of system components. For
our design, there are some major losses affect our system and lead to the low
efficiency of the system.

Looses affect PV system are calculated by

The total loss we can obtain from a two years long project about PV system which
located in Dutch. Through that report, we can find out the performance ratio is
0.612. This ratio you can find out from appendix.

The structure of a PEM based electrolyzer is shown in Figure 3. The oxygen will
be expelled from the anode and the hydrogen is generated on the cathode. The
problem within this system is that the hydrogen is saturated with water vapor
Figure 4 is a single PEM electrolyzer which will be used, it is just a model we use
to simulate and analysis, if we want to use PEM electrolyzer in practical, an
electrolyzer stack would be a good choice and lots of practical problems like heat
removal should be considered.

At the negative electrode, protons are removed from the electrolyte, electrons
are provided by the external electrical supply and hydrogen is formed via the

8. SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
AUTOCAD: It is used to draft the component diagram into line
diagram by using AutoCAD. This gives a detail about the component and the
dimension of the component.
PRO-E: The models of the component are designed as an each separate
component and to assemble the designed component and to perform the kinematic
motion of the assembled model

The product hydrogen is very pure.
It is produced as needed and does not have to be stored, and so is safer.
Electricity is much easier and safer to supply than bottled hydrogen.
The marginal cost is only a few cents per kilogram much cheaper than
gas supplied in high-pressure cylinders.
