Growing what?
When we refreshed the vision for 267 recently, the team chose these words:
Resource Grow Celebrate. But why Grow?
The team at 267 has certainly grown in the last few years, going from Mikes solo
years to the current Fantastic Four! The numbers of local churches we work with has
also grown significantly, and we cover an expanding geographical area. We are excited
to see real, sustainable growth in the work of FUEL, our youth worship gathering and
we are currently in talks about increasing the scope of X:Site, (high-energy, childrens
ministry evenings) bringing it to St Albans as well as continuing in Harpenden.
But growth can mean depth as well as width We currently help to support and love
a network of over 50 youth and childrens workers, each of whom pour themselves
out to grow the Kingdom in their patch. We are there to share the highs and lows, be
real about frustrations, share ideas and inspire
creativity, seeking to build the resilience of
these front-line workers. Three members
of our network have recently told
us, unprompted, that without the
sustenance of 267 behind them,
they would not still be doing
their jobs. It is humbling, and
immensely encouraging, to
realise that the work we do
means that these incredibly
gifted people are still working
to grow Gods Kingdom in the lives
of the children they work with.

In nature things love to grow

its the way God made the world,
and His Church can be the same
too. And thats why we continue,
with your help, to grow the support
267 can provide, to enable the local
church to provide Kingdom-expanding,
life-changing, youth and childrens work.
Thanks...
l Connections: Through our new Core Roadshow ministry we are making new church
connections and we pray that these will enable us to support and resource more youth and
childrens work. Pray as we plan for further Core Roadshow events in various places over the
next year. We also give thanks for our ongoing friendship and relationship with The St Albans
Diocese, Youthscape & Younglife; all three are such an encouragement and blessing to 267

l Intern Katherine: What a blessing and gift Katherine has been already. She is so organized
and has taken on some of our social media jobs as well as helping plan events. Notably, she
put a vast amount of energy into our Fuel Team Leadership Adventure and made it a real
success. Please pray for her as she balances working, serving within 267 and supporting the
youthwork at Markyate Baptist
Church.

l Fuel Team Leadership

Adventure: At the beginning
of October half term we took
away 13 of our Fuel Team young
leaders. We had so much fun
bonding as a group but also took
some time to consider our own
gifting and where God might be
calling us to use those gifts. We
also embarked on the greatest
and most dangerous team
building activity - punting!!

l FUEL: Fuel is amazing! We give thanks for young people

choosing to come, choosing to be up for it, choosing to be open
about their faith and choosing to seek God. We give thanks for
Charlotte who spoke a powerful and challenging message at
the Oct Fuel.

l Breakfast: This month we had 23 youth and childrens

leaders for breakfast. This network is such a place of
encouragement and support and we thank God for the unity
that exists. We had 3 new people come along this week as they
have started working for a church in the area. Pray for 267 as
we seek to support and encourage them

l National Youth Ministry Weekend: We give thanks for the opportunity to work with
Youthscape on this event. We have made some great friends and also been able to serve
leaders from right across the country. It was also great to have around 16 leaders from the
267 network attend.
Please...
l The Haven: Claire is continuing to run the monthly support group for teenagers struggling
with anxiety and stress. Pray for the meetings this term and that those who need it most will
get to hear about it

l New Years Houseparty: The planning is well underway for this years Houseparty. Pray for
those booked on, those thinking about booking and for those we have yet to invite. Pray for
the team as we start more detailed planning. Thanks to Heidi and Chris for being willing to
cook for us this year

l Fuel: This year in Fuel we are looking at some of the most powerful and challenging
encounters Jesus had. We will be using Marks Gospel. Pray for us as we gather together
and that more youth groups and more young people can be blessed by this ministry. Pray for
Katherine as she takes time to think about our welcome at these events and including new
people in what we do. Pray for Ben as he speaks at the next Fuel on 26th November.

l Preaching: Mike is preaching and visiting a few churches this term. Pray for his preparation
and that those times will be a real encouragement and blessing, for them and us.

l CORE Roadshow: In November we have

our first Core Roadshow at Christ Church
St Albans and the topic is why we do what
we do and our hope is to spend the evening
encouraging, inspiring and cheering on those
that work with our kids and young people

l Love Christmas: Over the last few years we have run our Love Harpenden events and
these have been such a blessing to our team but also to the people we are able to treat. Pray
for us as we run a winter version with snow, hot chocolate, Christmas decoration craft and a
visit to Santa

Some scripture that is encouraging us

If you are able to you hold me by my right hand.
