We had our Electronics Design Lab submission a day after the final exams.

Our project which was an

Electronic lock using Rfid was working a day before the exam began. But as can happen wtih
electronic circuits, something went wrong in the in between days. When we tested the circuit on the
night before submission, it had stopped working. We just had a night to not only figure out what was
wrong with the complicated circuit but also to fix it. We spent the whole night debugging the circuit
and trying to locate the problem. It was important to stay optimistic and work diligently without
giving up. I took on the responsibility of trying to keep up the spirit in the group. We finally did
manage to find the problem and fixed it just in time for the submission.

I believe I suit the role offered at BNP Paribas (Fixed Income) because I am a highly passionate and
focused individual, with strong analytical and quantitative skills. My logical approach to problem-
solving has helped me maintain a strong academic record, both in school and throughout my
undergraduate years at IIT Bombay. My experience of playing a team sport like basketball has helped
me develop leadership skills and also the ability to gel well in a group. My calm temperament and
ability to keep my cool in tough moments has helped me maintain my level of performance during
high-pressure situations in academics as well as basketball. I believe that these qualities will help me
succeed in this career. Also I am really interested and excited about pursuing a career in finance and
am genuinely interested in learning the nuances of this career. BNP Paribas which is the largest bank
in France is renowned for providing excellent financial services and also for nurturing talent. I feel
that starting my career in an organization like this would enable me to learn from the best people in
the business and also develop as an individual.

I have been playing basketball since I was a kid and have gone on to represent my state as well. I
continued playing the game in IIT. During the annual Inter-IIT sports meet in my 2nd year, we
narrowly lost the finals to IIT Madras. During my 3rd year, the meet was held in IIT Bombay and we
were determined to avenge the loss. Four key players from our team had graduated and hence there
were quite a few new faces in the team. We practiced really hard during the lead up to the meet.
During the training camp which began two weeks prior to the meet, we used to have two intense
sessions every day. We were again pitted again IIT Madras in the finals but unfortunately had a bad
start and were down by 15 points at the half time. I, being the most experienced player in the team,
had the responsibility to raise the level of my game and help my team get back into the match. With
5 minutes to go we were still trailing by 8 points. We worked extremely hard during these last
minutes and managed to nick the match by 2 points. The thought of suffering defeat at the hands of
same team twice in two years was what motivated us to put in that extra effort towards the end of
the game and pull off a win.
