Monday, August 15
Bats The Bike Hub, 1025 N. Broadway,
DePere. 8–9:30 pm. Sue Saari will explain
the habits of Wisconsin bats and show us a
live captive bat or two. Then she will lead us
along the Fox River to find bats using an echo
locator. Free for Audubon members, non-
members adults $5, children 17 and under $3.
Tuesday, August 16
Bugs & Flowers Baird Creek Parkway,
Triangle Sports Area, Green Bay. 6:30–8 pm.
Join Matt Welter of the Neville Museum and
examine prairie plants for bugs, beetles and
spiders. We will meet near the Chalet build-
ing. We will supply insect nets. Bring a bug
box or a jar with a lid on it. Take University
Avenue to Humboldt Road, take first right
to Baird Creek Road and first right again on
Beverly Road leading up the hill. Free for
Audubon members, non-members adults $5,
children 17 and under $3. No pre-registration
required.
Wednesday, August 31
Alaska Talk Neville Public Museum,
Green Bay. 7 pm. Free. Accomplished
author and adventurer Jon Waterman offers
an evening of photographs and words from
his new book, Where Mountains are
Nameless: Passion and Politics in the Arctic
National Wildlife Refuge. Co-sponsored by
the Neville Public Museum, Alaska Coalition
and Northeast Wisconsin Audubon.
Saturday, September 3
Monarch Butterfly Tagging
Crossroads at Big Creek, Collins Learn-
ing Center, Sturgeon Bay. 12:30–2:30 pm.
Leader: Randy Korb. Half hour introduction
in the Learning Center on the monarch and its
migration to Mexico. Then we will drive to
fields to catch, tag and release monarchs. Free
for Audubon members. Non-member adults
$5, children 17 and under $3. No pre-regis-
tration required. Event will be cancelled if it
rains. Crossroads is located on the east side
of Sturgeon Bay, with the main entrance on
Michigan St., just east of the intersection of
Michigan and Highway 42/57.

Bay Botanical Garden, 2600 Larsen
Road, Green Bay. 12:30–2:30 pm.

Bay Botanical Garden is located
on the west side of Green Bay
at 2600 Larsen Road, which is off
Packerland Drive (Hwy EB) between
West Mason Street (Hwy 54) and Shawano
Avenue (Hwy 29).

Green Bay take Highway 29 west 35 miles and
turn right on the WI 22 exit-exit 225. Turn right
onto E. Green Bay Street (WI-22, WI-47,
