non-members are $5 for adults, $3 for

Christmas celebration and Members’ Slide
Show with refreshments.

Audubon Christmas Bird Count
The count area includes the cities and suburbs
of Green Bay and DePere. Howard, Hobart,
Allouez, Ashwaubenon, and Bellevue are all
included, and feeder watchers in those areas
can participate. Please call John Jacobs at
448-4460, ext. 217 for details and forms.
Audubon Newsletter Wins Award
The National Audubon Society granted our
newsletter an award for its exceptional
quality. Audubon judges compared and rated
77 chapter newsletters from across the
country. The Audubon Log won third place
in the 800–1,000 membership category. Our
September/October 2004 edition is featured
on Audubon’s website.
The award comes at a time when we are
discussing the newsletter’s future. The
newsletter is our greatest expense. Just two
issues a year consume nearly all of our
annual income. Advertising, sponsors, a grant
and/or donated services might cover part or
all of our costs.

Atlas of the Breeding Birds of
Wisconsin
Co-edited by Noel Cutright, Bettie Harriman
and Robert Howe, this resource is now
available on-line, from the WSO Bookstore,
or order from your local bookstore. $40 buys
you 620 pages with 1400 photographs, maps
and figures, many in color. This publica-
tion is the definitive work on the status of
Wisconsin’s breeding birds. Many local bird
experts contributed field work and wrote
specific accounts.
