Littre hernia

Littrehernia is a hernia containing a Meckel's diverticulum. Also known as a persistent


omphalomesenteric duct hernia. It is most frequently encountered in the inguinal region.

Radiographic features

CT

blind ending tubular structure arising from antimesentric border of small bowel andextending into
inuginal sac
normal appendix would be seen

History and etymology

Alexis Littre,a French surgeon in the year 1700was the rst to report three cases of incarcerated femoral
hernia containing a small bowel diverticulum.
