Your government has announced that it wishes to build a military base near

your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new

influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the military base?

From my point of view, a military base has several negative aspects.

A military base is a symbol of war. Soldairs and guns give ideas to people
about violent times. These ideas are different from a peace culture. In my
community people want to teach to his sons and daughters about solidarity
and communication, like tools in favour the peace. A military base is opposite
to our theaching.

A military base has always guns and explosive, and these things are dangerous
for my community. For an accident or any reason, this armament can explote
and my community would be in dangerous. In this context, we can lost our
own healt and homes. I think any military base has to be out city or far from
civilian places.

A military base needs control and this can destroy the civil rights of my
community. Soldiers have to protect their base. For this reason, they always
control people that live around them. In consequence, they record phone
conversations of their neighbors, or read their mails or letters. They violent
civil rights and I do not want these negative actions in my community.

I think a military base is not neccesary for my community. A military base is a

war symbol and dangerous place. It is not a good influence for the children
and it can put to my community in a danger context. On the other hand,
soldiers can violent the civil rights of community peoples.

If you could change one important thing about your country, what would you
change? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.

From my point of view, in my country education is not an important topic. For

this reason, I would like to change the education situation.

With a good education, people can be better citizens. In schools or universities

with high quality, people would learn about national history and solidarity
ideas. In this sense, people would understand that it is important to live in
community, because all are from one country and can work for common
objectives. This good consequences of education can see in several cases. For
example, when children have lessons about history and union, they tend to act
in group. They do not think in individual way and want the better things for
his friends and community.
If people receive quality education, they can understand his context.
Education give to students a critical view. People with education can think his
situation in several ways and, in consequence, they can act with more
freedom. That is, people can decide his political position. For example, in a
state violence situation, people can take his own point view and fight in
defense of his rights or of the others.

People with a good education can have better jobs. If people study more, they
will not be victims of explotation. They will able to decide about their future
work. For example, if one has deep studies about several things, one can
decide between many laboral option, like to work at any office or to open an
own business.

I would like to change education situation of my country. With more

education programms, my country would have educated people. They would
be a good citizens, with ideas in favour of a united country. With education,
people would have a personal point of view. In this sense, people would take
his own political position. Finally, with better knowledges, people would have
better jobs.
