1. My philosophy in life is There is always a good reason for everything. I do
believe that things happen for a reason and I try my best to take in all of it
positively even though its already hurting me. I use this philosophy also in my
work as a teacher so that I will remain having a positive outlook in teaching.

My philosophy statement in education is that children of all ages have different abilities
or skills which need to be pulled out from them and this is now where I come in as a
teacher. It is my responsibility to help my students discover their individual skills and to
help them master new ones. I act as a guide for them through their discovering and
learning process. I believe that teaching is a difficult task. I am the one who is
responsible of choosing methods or ways for my students to learn effectively from me. I
want my students to progress in their learning until they discover the skills they have as
an individual. Skills that will allow them to be successful in the paths they are going to
choose.

2. With regards to my philosophy in life, it is connected with my schools VMG in


terms of being prepared to be positive all the time despite the challenges that will
come in ones life as a student.

While my philosophy statement in education is connected to my schools VMG in


terms of letting the students learn different skills that they may use in the future. The
school and I will both serve as guide to the students in their learning process.

3. Christ the King Academy VMG

Vision: After each graduation, Christ the King Academy produces competent
individuals to pursue higher education, skillfully and technologically able to sustain a
living, spiritually and intellectually prepared to serve our God and the whole community.

After each graduation, Christ the King Academy produces competent individuals
to pursue higher education this phrase is aligned to Progressivism which is
based largely on the belief that lessons must be relevant to the students in order
for them to learn (Source: highered.mheducation.com). In this phrase, we would
be able to understand that when a student graduates from this institution, he or
she has already learned many things relevant to him or her. After which, the
student may already progress to a higher level of learning.
Skillfully and technologically able to sustain a living this phrase is aligned to
Pragmatism because it shows that a student needs to apply their skills to
experiences in order for them to continue living.
Spiritually and intellectually prepared to serve God and the whole community
this phrase is aligned to Idealism because it shows the aim of education of
Idealism which is to discover and develop each individuals abilities and full moral
excellence in order to better serve society (Source: oregonstate.edu).

Mission: To live up to our vision, we therefore commit ourselves to:

- Equip and strengthen ones spiritual, intellectual, social, cultural and physical
growth by having Religious Education, BEC and K-12 Curriculum; - this
statement is aligned to Essentialism because this shows that CKA focuses on
teaching the essential elements of academic and moral knowledge

- Protect and conserve the environment for Sustainable Development this


statement is aligned to Realism which states that the ultimate reality is the world
of physical objects (Source: highered.mheducation.com) and, the environment is
part of the world which has many physical objects.

Goals: In pursuing our mission, the school community aims to:

- Make Christ the King Academy a model of Basic Christian Formation; - this
statement is aligned to Existentialism which is derived to the need of individuals
to shape their own futures.

- Be a center of fostering academic excellence and technical and vocational skills


in keeping with the students potentials; - this statement is aligned to
Essentialism and Pragmatism because essentialism believes in having high
academic standards (academic excellence) and pragmatism needs application of
the students skills (technical and vocational skills). (Source:

- And provide responsible citizens and future leaders of the community and
beyond this statement is aligned to Pragmatism because it is connected to
pragmatisms belief that learners must adapt to each other and their environment
and that schools should emphasize the subject matter of social experience
