Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing
platform and infrastructure, created by
Microsoft, for building, deploying and

provides both PaaS and IaaS services.
Microsoft Azure uses a specialized operating
system, called Microsoft Azure, to run its
"fabric layer": a cluster hosted at Microsoft's
datacentres that manages computing and
storage resources of the computers and
provisions the resources (or a subset of
them) to applications running on top of
Microsoft Azure. Microsoft Azure has been
described as a "cloud layer" on top of a
number of Windows Server systems, which
use Windows Server OS and a customized
version of Hyper-V, known as the Microsoft

Types of Virtual Machines:
Microsoft Azure provides wide selection of
FIXED instance type.
These instances are fixed combination of
CPU, RAM, Storage and Network capacity.
Example :
A0 1 vCPU, 0.75 GB RAM, 20 GB.
A1 1 vCPU, 1.75 GB RAM, 70 GB.
D1 1 vCPU, 3.5 GB RAM, 50 GB SSD.
D1 v2 1 vCPU, 3.5 GB RAM, 50 GB SSD.
Hypervisor:
Both Linux VM's and Windows VM's are
provisioned on Microsoft Azure Hypervisor
which is a modified version of Hyper-V
hypervisor.

eNlight provides a Great flexibility while
setting up a virtual machine instance.
In eNlight the virtual machine instance can
be customized as per the customer's
requirements.
Example :
VM1 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, EBS.
VM2 4 vCPU, 3.75 GB RAM, EBS.
VM3 2 vCPU, 10 GB RAM, EBS.
VM4 6 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, EBS.

provisioned on Xen and Windows VM's are

Support is not Free.
There are three different pricing models:
Developer $29 / month, Standard
Customer $300 / month
Professional Direct $1,000 / month.
Initial response time depends upon support
plan with maximum 8 hours delay and
maximum of 15 minutes delay only for
Premier customers.
Additional Support is provided through
Partners, who have limited knowledge of
the backend network and Cluster
configuration. Technical team of the
customers tend to have less knowledge of
OS, DB and Azure network compared to the
partners.
SLAs are rigid and sometime fails to address
criticality of the customers business and
Service requirements. Penalties are
negligible and customers fail to get any kind
of compensation.

customer needs!
Initial response time is 15 minutes standard
for all types of customers.
Support is offered by in-house Staff of ESDS,
having experience of serving the largest
Enterprises and more than 35,000 SMEs
hosting more than 2 Million websites and all
types of Apps and Databases. The System
Admins, Database Admins, Network Admins
and Security Admins have full knowledge of
the Architecture and backend network and
all Technology problems are fixed as per the
SLA signed with the customers.
SLAs are fully customizable and customers
have their say in the SLA document.
Penalties are accepted to the tune of 20% in
case of downtime and security issues.
Compensation is issued immediately in case
of SLA breach.
