Transport and Highways, Transport Research Wing, New Delhi, It is brought up to the fore
that more people die on roads as compared to fire accidents, attacks, and diseases. More than
five lakhs accidents happen every year, Indian roads reports the demise of 1.46 lakh citizens
annually. The total number of accidents happened in Delhi in 2016 was 7,375 among which
fatal accidents was 1,548, simple accidents was 5,698, non-injury accidents were 129,
persons injured were 7,154 and persons killed were 1,591. It can be concluded that in 2016,
400 deaths occurred in a day on Indian roads and Delhi tops the list of fatality.

The product is aesthetically designed, the display panel is placed in the vehicles speedometer
socket connected and supported by four sensors located at the front, rear, and sides and audio
output of the vehicle. Its ergonomic and human centered design makes the machine easy to
use. The device has the feature of offline maps synced with Google and push text and
automated voice message service.

S.H.E.I.L.D is the product which acts as an auxiliary or an accessory compatible with 4

wheeler light non-commercial vehicle. The Primary function of the product is to notify the
nearest hospitals or medical institution along with five of the primary contact that the vehicle
met with an accident providing them vehicle details and the exact location of the mishap and
enabling them to rescue ones life. The notification service will be deployed only if the
device collision sensor measures deceleration and lot of force in the middle of the bumper
which happens only in the case of major accidents. The notifications sent by device to nearest
hospitals have to be replied by the hospital to ensure that the aid will be coming to the victim.

Secondary functions of this device are making sure that driver fastens seatbelt, car doors
being locked appropriately; the display panel displays the pictographs for seatbelt, and gates.
If the gates are not properly closed, seatbelts are not fastened; the icon turns red and beeps at
the same time and it stops only when seatbelts are fastened and gates are closed. The
automated voice feature informs the driver about adhering to speed limit and uneven terrain
based on the information gathered by the sensors.

The device once registered with the required credential of the customer installed in the
vehicle functions automatically and cannot be altered by the customer.

Since, death and injury cannot be eliminated and predicted, we can only prevent and
minimize the uncertainties. S.H.E.I.L.D only helps in making the unconscious or injured
victim contact with hospitals and family members and making driver alert, and cautious.
