DAMAGE OF EXISTING BUILDING

Dear Sir
We were notified/became aware [delete as appropriate] that the owner of the adjacent building
located at claims that damage on his/her building occurred as consequence of the building
execution carried out by the. Contractor engaged by you.

I can assure you that the required measures has been taken on the design phase to avoid any
damage on the adjacent buildings. The main actions that we considered to avoid damge on the
adjancent existing building were:

Erection of sheet pilling walls prior any site work, to avoid any disturbance of the adjacent soil
Pressing method was used for the sheetpiling erection which has minimum impact on the
adjacent soil
Foundation elements transfer the load at the level required to avoid any transfer of load to
the adjacent soil/structure

For the reasons explained above we find hard to understand how any damage on the adjacent
existing building has happened as a consequence of the building construction.

ADD NEW FEATURE TO THE BUILDING

Dear Sir
We refer to your information provided by the clients body regarding the intention to change the
original usage of the top roof.

As structural designer we would like to point out the following items which may have major impact on
the structure related items.
It will require the redesign of the top roof structure
It may affect the structure on the floors below and the foundation. It may require additional
design.
It may affect third parties, architect and MEP. Coordiantion to be done between us and them
Additional fee to perform the tasks stated above.

We are ready to study and carried out the redesign of the roof structure and checking of the structural
elements below this level.please do let us know wheher go ahead with the design change based on
the implications described above.
