Por otro lado, cabe destacar el buen desempeo de la construccin, los establecimientos
financieros y la industria manufacturera, los cuales tuvieron un crecimiento anual de 4,1%,
5% y 3% respectivamente.
El director del Dane, Mauricio Perfetti, anunci que el comportamiento de los servicios
financieros e inmobiliarios se explica por el crecimiento de los tres subsectores que
conforman la actividad, donde se destacan los servicios de intermediacin financiera con
11,1% y los servicios inmobiliarios y de alquiler de vivienda con 3,2%.
Las ramas con mayor crecimiento en el cuarto trimestre de 2016 fueron servicios financieros
e inmobiliarios con 5%, construccin con 3,5 % y agricultura, ganadera, caza, silvicultura y
pesca con 2%.
Qu se espera en 2017?
Entidades nacionales e internacionales precisan que para 2017 se espera que la actividad
econmica se acelere levemente ubicndose entre un 2% y 3% al final del
ao. Corficolombiana, con 2,8%; Asobancaria, con 2,3%; y Fedesarrollo, con 2,6%, son
algunas de las estimaciones de crecimiento que se han expuesto para este ao.
In the fourth quarter of 2016, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Colombia grew 1.6%
with respect to the same period of 2015, according to Dane today. In the total of the year, the
Colombian economy grew 2%.

In the third quarter, the Colombian economy grew 1.2%, the lowest quarterly growth since
2009. Today the Dane reported that in the fourth quarter it grew to 1.6% and in the total of
2016 the economic growth of Colombia was of 2% (according to the forecasts).
The growth of 2% represents the lowest growth of the country's economy in 7 years, after
having grown by 1.7% in 2009.

The low growth of the Colombian economy in the previous year, was mainly influenced by
the fall in the mining and transportation sectors mainly, falling 0.1% and 6.5% respectively.
This negative behavior was associated with the dynamics of the hydrocarbon sector.
On the other hand, it is worth highlighting the good performance of construction, financial
establishments and the manufacturing industry, which had an annual growth of 4.1%, 5%
and 3% respectively.

The director of the Dane, Mauricio Perfetti, announced that "the behavior of financial and
real estate services is explained by the growth of the three subsectors that make up the
activity, which highlights the services of financial intermediation with 11.1% and real estate
services and of renting a house with 3.2% ".
The growth of the construction sector in 2016 is explained by the positive variation of
construction of buildings (6%) and civil works with 2.4%.
7 of the 9 branches remained in positive territory and 4 of them grew above the national
economy.
In the fourth quarter of 2016, the growth of the Colombian economy was 1.6%, which is
1.8% lower than in the same period of 2015.
The branches with the highest growth in the fourth quarter of 2016 were financial and real
estate services with 5%, construction with 3.5% and agriculture, livestock, hunting, forestry
and fishing with 2%.
National and international entities specify that for 2017 it is expected that economic activity
will accelerate slightly, placing between 2% and 3% at the end of the year. Corficolombiana,
with 2.8%; Asobancaria, with 2.3%; and Fedesarrollo, with 2.6%, are some of the growth
estimates that have been exposed for this year.
According to Fedesarrollo's projections, the construction and financial services sectors are
expected to continue as the main drivers of the country's economy. However, the recent cases
of corruption discovered in the construction sector call into question the good performance
and growth expected for this year.
