Chapter 4 Discussion

Read Ch. 4 in The Curious Researcher (p. 111-145). In your post, include the following:
1. 3 key ideas
2. A 25-word summary
3. Write a response that answers the following: What is the main thing you took away from this
chapter? What information was surprising to you? How will you use this chapter to create your
draft?

1. Three key ideas of this reading was, making a strong argument, interest of the reader, and
making the research question and Information from research connect.
2. This chapter says a lot about how a writer composes a draft. It discusses all the different
ways and aspects of writing a draft. Also your thesis should lead and connect with arguments
in the rest of the paper.
3.The main thing I took away from this chapter is the venndiagram on pg 136. This diagram
had research question on the left, information from research, and in the middle "writer at
work". This says that both should connect with each-other to analyze, interpret, summarize
and paraphrase. I will use this to create my draft by making sure that my my research question
matches information from the research.
