Ref: Magnets, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations

To whom it may concern,

This letter is in response to Safety Data information on permanent bar magnets supplied and
shipped by PCB Piezotronics, Inc.

We verify that magnets offered by PCB are non-hazardous products as they do not fall within
the threshold of the IATA (International Air Transportation Associations) dangerous goods
regulations. Magnetized material, as outlined by IATA, is "Any material which, when packed for
air transport, has a magnetic field strength of 0.159 A/rn (0.002 Gauss) or more at a distance of
2.1m (7 ft) from any point on the surface of the assembled item".

Magnets tested and supplied at PCB show virtually no change in output when tested at
distances as short as 6-inches. In addition, all permanent magnets are shipped with protective
keepers. This results in zero gauss reading at distances of 2. 1 r (7 feet).
