Task:
After our shared study of the film texts The Secret River and Rabbit-Proof
Fence, you are to write an essay based on one of the following questions
below that demonstrates your knowledge and understanding of the two
texts and their consideration of the relationship between Europeans and
Indigenous Australians.

The key to this task is to ensure that you COMPARE and CONTRAST.
What is similar, and what is different?
1. You wont never be welcome, but they might just leave you
alone. Simple as that. To what extent is this statement true
for the European population as shown in The Secret River and
Rabbit-Proof Fence?
2. Both The Secret River and Rabbit-Proof Fence examine the
strained relationship between Europeans and Indigenous
Australians, and the impact that this has on children. In what
ways are these texts similar or different in their consideration
of children?
