Poor Reading Comprehension Skills and Poor Performance in Math and Science

Poor reading comprehension skills and performance in Math and Science are two problems of
high school education in the Philippines. They have conducted a research which shows that there is a
correlation but not significant one. Dismal performance in Math and Science was not merely from poor
instruction in reading but poor instruction across the board.

As a future teacher, teaching students for me is very challenging in a way that they cant
comprehend what Im intended to imply especially in Math and Science which for me are hard subjects.
But on the other hand I will do my duty as a teacher to give my students a proper education and
learnings that may someday will give them a better life and a better future for their family and love
ones.
