TELEVISION:
o a game show (=television programme where people score points by answering questions or doing
things) host (= a person who introduces the programme and asks the questions)
o Chat show: a TV or radio programme in which famous people talk about themselves or their work
o Talk show: a group of ordinary people have an opportunity to debate a subject.
o Serial: a story that is broadcast or published in a series of separate parts.
o Sitcom situation comedy a funny television or radio show in which the same characters appear
in each programme in a different story

o telethon a long TV programme that provides entertainment with the purpose of raising
money for charity (=organizations that help people)
o update a report or broadcast containing all the latest news or information
o tabloid TV television programmes intended to be exciting or shocking

RADIO:
o Advertisers are interested in ratings (=a list of television and radio programmes showing how
popular they are)
