Sub: Guidelines for summer training /Project work of Student at CRRI

CRRI provides practical training to students of various engineering colleges, NITs/IITS etc for
both short term and long term duration. The matter of Student training at CRRI was discussed with
DRRI. The procedure for summer training at CRRI will be as follows:-

Any application/request received in the Areas/Divisions directly from colleges/students shall

be first referred to ILT Division for centralized processing as per norms of CRRI.

ILT Division will invite the students requirement from various divisions in March 2016. All
HoDs are requested to send their requirement for number of student Trainees required in
their division along with the topic of research work likely to be taken up by student trainee for
dissertation work to ILT Division

Director opined that Scientist are advised not to entertain any request for internship
or dissertation work at their level.

The application should be complete and consisting of the following:-

1. A request letter from the college on its Letter Head

2. Bio-data / CV of the Candidate indicating their grade points
3. A copy of the mark sheet of the student
4. College Identity Card
(Incomplete applications will not be entertained)

Application received will be screened on the basis of marks/grade obtained in B.Tech /

M.Tech etc. Only students strictly with CGPA grade 8 and above will be recommended for
training at CRRI.

No Division/Area will engage any student trainee for summer training/dissertation work
without the prior approval of the competent authority.

The student will first report to ILT Division for joining. As per CRRI guidelines, the students
are required to pay a demand draft of Rs 5000/- in the name of Director, CRRI payable at
New Delhi towards internship fee at the time of joining. And they are also required to give an
undertaking from their parent Institute that the research work carried out at CRRI will not be
claimed in any form by their Institute supervisor.

On joining, the student has to submit a synopsis of the project within 3-5 days duly signed by
CRRI Guide for submission to ILT. The guide may please ensure that the student will work
only on the designated topic.

After the completion of the project work/dissertation, the student will submit the project report
for approval of DRRI through ILT. Thereafter a certificate will be issued from ILT division. At
least 3-4 days time shall be given to ILT for this purpose.
 No Accommodation will be provided to the students in normal course. Only deserving
candidate will be given accommodation that too is for short duration in CRRI Hostel
depending on the availability.

Preference will be given to students coming from reputed organizations like IITs, NITs and
Universities specially for M.Tech dissertation work. The students from private college will
not be taken irrespective of their grade points for M.Tech dissertation work.

This is issued with the approval of Director. All are requested to kindly follow the guidelines.
