Social Media influences interpersonal communication

Abstract
This process essay will be explaining of how social media made a huge impact towards

interpersonal communication. It consists of survey questions and interviews from fellow

individuals from Northern Marianas College and from outside of school. This paper will focus

on how communicating through social media can change the way we communicate through

person and how different their actions can be towards one another.
 Communication 1

Social media today brings millions of online users to communicate less in person. As

smart phones develop every year and other social media have been created, communication will

be less interactive through person. As its easier to access and is more efficient to communicate

through phone, the more it attracts people to give it a try. It may look like theres a positive

change to the way people communicate now; however this had cause people to be antisocial then

it had ever been. The lack of face to face communication had also impacted the decreasing of

interactions. People rather go through the internet to face their nervousness while starting any

kind of relationship, most relationship have commence through social medias.

The first survey that I had developed was a pilot survey. Which consist of twenty

individuals from Northern Marianas College English online course. This was shared into via

Google forms where all my classmates are able to see and share what they have answered. After

a couple days or weeks I have waited the results were in and it consists of short, stale, informal

answers that couldnt help with my research.

Throughout the last feedback, I had revised most of the questions that had been asked and

gave it more detailed and specific meaning to it to give the survey better results. Which the

answers will be explained more specifically, avoiding one word answers. I gave the survey about

a week and a half so towards the end I could start analyzing the results.

As the results were in and data have been completed, it was time to analyze in order. Start

to get individuals opinions and understanding towards social media influences interpersonal

communication towards the CNMI or around the world. Throughout the data collection it

honestly helped answering my research question.
