Dear Hiring Manager,
My name is Macie Stutz and I am writing to you to express my immense interest in the New Graduate Nursing Residency Program at Tucson Medical Center. I learned about this program through Nazareth Lauritzen, a current employee at your facility who is a registered nurse on the adult surgical unit. My clinical experience, knowledge, and devotion to the nursing profession will allow me to excel not only in this program, but as a member of the Tucson Medical Center healthcare team. Tucson Medical Center holds several essential values that are important to learn early on in this career field. Passion, integrity, dedication, and community are the core values that I have personally seen Tucson Medical Center represent, and that I would like to advocate for. As Southern Arizonas only locally governed non-profit hospital, TMCs morals are focused and directed to the community, which resonates with me as a Tucson native. Additionally, this hospital has provided care on all different levels including inpatient and outpatient care for over 70 years. I believe this organization will allow me to grow and transition into the professional workforce of nursing with the proper tools for success. My passion for nursing began in high school during a shadowing experience on a pediatric cancer and transplant unit. I found that caring for others physical, mental, and spiritual needs while in a critical state brought me tremendous joy and enhanced my eagerness to learn. In order to become more familiar with the hospital environment, I volunteered in the pediatric unit at Tucson Medical Center two years prior to getting accepted into nursing school. This experience enabled me to see firsthand how inter-professional collaboration works in order to optimize and improve health outcomes. Once nursing school began, my passion for pediatric nursing intensified and I knew this field of nursing was my true calling. I have had the pleasure to preceptor on Tucson Medical Centers pediatric unit, and am both impressed and pleased with their work ethic and exceptional patient care. Furthermore, I became familiar with the workflow and role of the nurse on this unit. I believe working on this unit as a registered nurse would not only enhance my knowledge and passion for pediatrics, but also provide this unit with a devoted and trusted employee. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Macie Stutz
