In this project, Preconception Sex Selection is defined as any medical procedure carried out by
a professional that is undertaken in an attempt to influence the biological sex of an unborn
child.

To put it simply; Preconception Sex Selection is a medical procedure that allows parents to
choose the sex of their unborn child.
What is the difference between

Sex refers to biological
differences; chromosomes,
hormonal profiles, internal
and external sex organs.
Gender -
Gender describes the
characteristics that a
society or culture
delineates as masculine or
feminine.
This can include girls being
kind and liking pink and
boys being strong and
