WORK EXPERIENCE
K-8 Intervention Specialist January 2015 to Present
Rock Creek Grant School

- Worked as certified elementary teacher. Taught kindergarten students in all subjects. Students
began the year behind the expected academic levels. At end of year classroom had average
growth of 25% in all subjects, ~2 years growth. After success in classroom took over the
Intervention Program. Currently monitoring and teaching 50% of the student body as well as
assisting teachers in using their data and planning appropriate differentiated lessons. Work
duties expand to include running the fundraising for student leadership (part of college for every
student), sitting on the board of the executive leadership and teacher management team, and
Managing NWEA and Smarter Balance Testing.

Teacher Education Advisor June 2017 to July 2017


Teach for America

- Worked as a teacher educator and mentor at the summer institute training for future Teach for
America corps members. This 8 week intensive is used to prepare corps members as they
transition into the roles of teachers in the following fall. Duties included providing professional
developments and trainings, supervising and providing feedback for teaching skills, modeling
teaching lessons, and lesson planning and support to 16 corps members.
RET Curriculum Developer June 2015 to August 2015
United Tribes College and National Science Foundation

- A summer research opportunity that involved observation of a student led research project
focused on wild bergamot. The research project was used as inspiration to develop a culturally
relevant science curriculum based on Lakota ethnobotany. The curriculum was adapted to a
4/5/6 grade classroom and incorporated principals of western and native science. The unit plan
was published in the NSF journal for teachers to access all over the country.

Independent Contractor October 2013 to January 2015


Self Employed

- Worked as an assistant project manager on remodels of commercial rental properties. Job


began as a part time hobby but developed into larger operation. Duties include tracking
expenses, materials used, sub-contractor progress, basic data entry, and direct hands on work
on the job site.

Research Assistant February 2013 to February 2014


Universal Nanotech, Boulder CO

- Small tech startup that dealt with the production of nanomaterial for batteries. Duties
included meeting with investors, budgeting/expense reports, sales of material, and research/
development of the product.
