If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in
your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
(Romans 10:9)

The TRINITY IN THE RESURRECTION

Scripture declares all three involved in the resurrection of Jesus.
If what Oneness claims is true then the bible is dead wrong.
How can all three be involved in this event if the Son is the
humanity.
If the Father the Spirit and the Son were involved this makes
them all present as well as being God. Also one needs to note
that only God is the author of life.
God raised Jesus - Acts 5:30 "The God of our Fathers raised up
Jesus"This is a general statement of whoever was involved in
the resurrection was God. Rom.4:24 "It shall be imputed to us
who believe in him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the
dead." (Acts 2:24,32; 3:26; 4:10; 5:30; 10:40; 13:30;1 Cor.6:14;
2 Cor.4:14 ) 2 Cor.1:9 ",we should not trust in ourselves but in
God who raises the dead." The resurrection became the seal of
who Christ is, with God approving that Jesus is his Son by
raising from the dead. Notice it says believe in him (a person,
the Father) who raised up the Lord, not just his flesh. Christ was
raised in the same body, as the same whole person that he was
before he died. The Bible says it is both the body united with the
Spirit in the resurrection. He ascended to heaven not only in his
humanity but also in deity. Jesus is Emmanuel- God with us in
flesh and he continues to be God in the flesh. Christ is the term
applied to the anointed God/man who is the Son of God in
human flesh. This is an affirmation of his deity. The identity of
the Sons nature is found in Isa.9:6 that calls the Son the mighty
God and other names of deity.
The Holy Spirit raised Jesus
Rom.8:11" But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the
dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall
also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in
you. It is the H.Spirit that dwells in us, notice he says by his
Spirit. . Paul makes a clear distinction between Christ the
God/man, the Spirit and the Father.
God raised Jesus
Acts 5:30 "The God of our Fathers raised up
Jesus" Rom.4:24"It shall be imputed to us who
believe in him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead."
Acts 2:24,32; 3:26; 4:10; 5:30; 10:40; 13:30 1 Cor.6:14; 2
Cor.4:14
If the Spirit and the Son were involved this makes them all God.
So all of the triune God took part in the resurrection.
The resurrection became the seal of who Christ is with God
approving that he is his son by raising from the dead.
Christ was raised in the same body as the same whole person
that he was before he died. . The Bible says it is both the body
united with the Spirit in the resurrection as the God/man. He
ascended not only in his humanness but also in deity. Jesus is
Emmanuel- God with us in flesh. Christ is the term applied to
the Christ, the anointed God/man who is the Son of God in
human flesh. This is an affirmation of his deity, the identity of
the Son which is his nature is paralleled with Isa.9:6 that calls
the Son the mighty God.
The Son raised himself- Jn.2:19 ...Destroy this temple and I will
raise it up." v.21 he was speaking of the temple of his body.
Jn.10:17' Therefore does my Father love me, because I lay down
my life, that I might take it again. 18: No man taketh it from me,
but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I
have power to take it again. This commandment have I received
from my Father". Christ was raised in the same body as the
same whole person that he was before he died. (the God/man)
Since he is involved in raising himself in body, he is living still
as Spirit to accomplish this. But it is the Father who gave the
command for him to do this as the Son. Remember the Son is
only the human vehicle of the Father according to Oneness.
How can he do this if the Son is that which is dead. Can
something dead raise itself up, especially if it is only a human. If
he is the Father who raises the body why would he say I have
received this command to raise the body. This proves he is
another who existed after death to fulfill the command from the
Father. Christ has the same power as the Father and the Spirit,
he does not do this independently but cooperatively, all three are
involved in the resurrection just as they were in creation. John
5:25 "Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now
is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and
those who hear will live." As Jesus said he is the resurrection
and the life. Later in Jn.6:39 he states This is the will of the
Father who sent me, that all he has given me, I should lose
nothing, but should raise it up on the last day." God is not giving
this ability to a human but the God/man.
Scripture states that the Triune God participated in the
resurrection. Why mention all three if they are roles of one
person?
1 Jn.4:2" Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that
confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in
the flesh is not of God."
John is writing after the resurrection, he uses the perfect tense in
the Greek language which denotes a past action with continuing
results into the future. Jesus came in the flesh, rose in the flesh
and is still in the flesh.
2 Jn7: For many deceivers are entered into the world, who
confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a
deceiver and an antichrist." In this epistle John uses the present
tense in Greek which focuses specifically on the future coming
of the Lord. People who deny that Jesus rose in the flesh or is
not coming back in the flesh by saying he rose or is coming
back as a Spirit or in some other form other than his body, are of
the spirit of anti-Christ.( 1 Jn.4:2 focuses on the past 2 Jn 7
focuses on the future. )
2 Jn. 9" Whosoever transgresses, and abideth not in the doctrine
of Christ, hath not God. He that abides in the doctrine of
Christ, he has both the Father and the Son." What is the
doctrine of Christ that is so crucial? That he was both God and
man who came to earth to do the Fathers will. He emptied
himself, not acting independently, and submitted himself to his
Fathers authority as the Son of God. ( Phil.2:5-8 ) to transgress
the doctrine of Christ is to deny that there is a real eternal person
who is the Father, and that there is a real and eternal person who
is the Son. The doctrine of Christ is that the Son became
incarnate, not the Father. When Paul preached Christ he made
the point of saying he is the Son of God. Denying distinction
and relationship in the being of God displaces the truth.
Bernard insists that the doctrine of Christ is "he is the God of the
Old Testament manifested in the flesh...(here is the twist) "If we
understand the doctrine of Christ we will realize Jesus is both
the Father and the Son." "If we deny the Son we are denying the
Father." (p.191)
1 Jn.1:24 says you also will abide in the Son and in the Father."
Do we actually abide in his humanness? Why put them on equal
status if they are not? Why not say it the way the Oneness does
whoever acknowledges the Father is in the Son, or that the Son
is the Father? Because this is not what they Scriptures are trying
to convey. All kinds of false teaching have redefined the
meaning of the term "Son" which then also affects the meaning
of "Father".
1Jn.2:22-23 "Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the
Christ He is anti Christ who denies the Father and the Son,
Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either, he
who acknowledges the Son has the Father also." Can we
entertain the view that when one acknowledges his humanity he
has the Father? John further explains about those denying Jesus
Christ has come in the flesh. This is about him being deity. If
one says the Father is in the Son, he is denying the Father.
Because they are no longer two individuals but one who is in
two roles. Which means one ceases to exist later on, just as
Oneness admits the Sons role will cease
1 Jn.4:15 "whosoever shall confess that JESUS IS THE SON
OF GOD, God dwelleth in him and he in God." This is clearly a
confession of the deity of Jesus Christ. Notice it does not say to
confess him as the Father, which one would have to do if they
were to say he was truly God. According to Oneness Jesus as
the son is a confession of his humanity not his deity, then one
will have God dwell in him and he in God. Whats so important
about a confession like that!
