Que es un extintor

Un extintor es un artefacto que se utiliza para apagar el fuego,


consiste de un contenedor metlico cargado a presin con un agente
extintor de incendios. De modo que al abrir la vlvula el agente sale
por la boquilla, la cual debe dirigirse a la base del fuego para
extinguirlo.
Componentes de un extintor
Est compuesto por:
Cuerpo o cilindro
Manmetro
Palanca de descarga
Precinto de seguridad
Seguro
Manguera de descarga
Boquilla
Identificacin del tipo de extintor
Tarjeta de control de inspeccin
Tipos de fuego
Clase A
Producido por combustibles slidos como: madera, papeles, cartones,
textiles, plsticos, etc
CLASE B
Producido por fluidos combustibles como: petrleo, gasolina, pinturas,
etc
CLASE C
Producidos por equipos conectados a una fuente elctrica
CLASE D
Producidos por polvos o virutas de aleaciones de metales como:
aluminio, magnesio, etc.
CLASE K
Producidos por electrodomsticos con combustibles como aceites y
grasas de cocina.
Uso del extintor
Se usa para apagar un fuego incipiente, y si observa esto se
debe mantener la calma, asegura la escena y ponte al favor del
viento, identifica el tipo de fuego y usa el extintor adecuado, a la
vez observar el manmetro para ver que el extintor este cargado.
Como se activa un extintor
Primero jalar el seguro del extintor, guardando una distancia de
dos metros a tres metros
Seguidamente apuntamos la boquilla del extintor a la base del
fuego
Presionamos el percutor para activar el agente extintor y se
realiza movimiento tipo abanico hasta extinguir el fuego
Finalmente se echa el baln del extintor para saber que ya se
uso

Use of the extinguisher
