flora and fauna, proper waste management and educating guest about preserving the

Best practices of sustainability

Best practice is an ever-evolving methodology that for the present time is

considered the most exceptional way to conduct business. Observing the best practices
of the sustainability at Borawan eco-resort includes a multi-level of the property. Some
of their best practices is sustainable management practices extends from the property
level to the local and national level. One of the first step is planning and building the
property that a sustainable in design such as expanding and developing the lodging
rooms, comfort rooms, and eco-resto to make customers more comfortable in the
island. In the planning phase, government sometimes has programs or incentives that
help the accommodations and amenities with funding to construct green properties in
Borawan. Property design is also important as it will help to know the methods available
for water, energy, and waste management. The hiring and management of staff, the
majority of whom are local or residence of Padre Burgos is an important part of best
practice management. Hiring locals generally helps the native population by providing
them earnings for re-investment into their families, local, and national economy. This
are the best practices that can be helpful for developing the Borawan but at the same
time preserving the environment.

V. Context

Borawan is best for those people whose Nature Lovers, Group of friends like
Barkadas, Family and older people. Borawan is perfect place who wants to experience

VI. Mission

"The Company's mission is to foster a unique brand of ecotourism that exposes

international visitors and the community of Philippines to the natural wonders of
Borawan in the form of a profitable business that practices the principles of sustainable
development."

VII. Problem Statement

During our occular visit last November 13,2017 in Borawan Island, Padre Burgos
Quezon Province. We conduct an interview, an observation to the improvement of
Borawan today compared last year. Based on our experienced and observation lodging
room, facilities, man power are some of the problems of Borawan Island.

Lodging room because they only have Nipa Hut for eating purposes only and tent
that the tourists need to rent for them to use for sleeping purposes. The aim of planning
and developing a lodging room in the island is to give them better facilities, great
ambiance, comfortable feeling and improvement to this area.

Lack of facilities especially the comfort room that they have two in station 1 and
the food store their goods are too expensive that tourists prefer to bring their own food
to less the expenses

The man power they only have 1 life guard and 2 security guards for 3 stations.
The security personnel are not enough to secure the safety of the tourist especially
during peak season. They need to add and train more staff to handle the safety and
security of everyone.

These are the problems that can affect the capabilities of the island and also the
tourists who visit the island.

VIII. Our Approach Rationale

Borawan Beach is probably promoting the Island but at the same time preserving
the ecological balance, biodiversity of the place and sustainable quality of living of the
people in Padre Burgos. Borawan is situated within lush mountains and rocky cliffs
overlooking the Tayabas Bay in the Sibuyan Sea. Locals of Padre Burgos pride
themselves of having Boracay and Palawan in one place thus the name Borawan.

It has its own spectacular rock formations like the limestone cliffs
of Palawan and crystal clear water and white sand like Boracay. Locals of Padre Burgos
pride themselves of having Boracay and Palawan in one place where the name
Borawan derived. Because of its own spectacular rock formations like the limestone
cliffs of Palawan and crystal clear water and white sand like Boracay. The mountain
range with a terrain overlooking China Sea.Ideal also for mountain climbing and
camping activities. Three beaches are still underdeveloped in the sea, the Ordaveza,
Burawan, Escalero Beach and Lipata cave. The island is also paradise for animals and
sea creatures, especially sea turtle "Pawikan" where these islands of Padre Burgos is
one of the home town and lay eggs. Padre Burgos is a 5th class municipality in the
province of Quezon, Philippines. It is located in Bondoc Peninsula just east of Lucena
City, the provincial capital. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 19,877
people. It is bounded on the north by Atimonan, on the west and northwest by Pagbilao,
on the east by Agdangan, and on the south by the Tayabas Bay.

The town is notable for its unspoiled beaches and the TulayBuhangin (Tagalog
for "sand bridge"). All the population are of Tagalog descent. The economy is primarily
based on coconut husking and farming. Local tourism is also on the rise.
