SANDVIK SIZER
Based on a combination of innovative design and highly advanced tech-
nology, Sandvik sizers allow high throughput capacities to be achieved
in a compact machine design. These features facilitate the layout and
design of the complete crushing plant. Plant dimensions can be significantly
reduced, ensuring low investment costs.

FEED MATERIAL
Sandvik sizers CR610 and CR620 are used for the primary, secondary and
tertiary crushing stage of soft to medium-hard materials such as lignite,
coal and similar raw materials.

MODE OF OPERATION
In the primary stage, the feed material undergoes a size reduction between
the counter-rotating rolls running inwards inside the center sizer type
CR610. In addition, a breaker bar can also be implemented in this process.

By installing a side sizer type CR620 in the secondary and tertiary crushing
stage, the material can be crushed between the rolls rotating outwards and
the crushing comb. In both cases, size reduction is effected by shear and
tensile forces, generated by high roll torques at low circumferential speeds.
When choosing the appropriate sizer type, the deciding criteria are the
technical requirements, such as the material properties, feed size, desired
product size and capacity, as well as the optimum investment and operat-
ing costs.

SANDVIK SERVICE
Sandviks global network provides reliable and efficient customer
support. Spare parts availability and a comprehensive range of services
allow improved productivity and maximized plant efficiency.
This concept is already implemented in the design phase of the machines.
Fast and easy replacement of components and wear parts, including the
crushing segments or picks, minimizes unplanned plant downtimes.

3
Compact design
excellent performance
In most cases, pre-screening is not necessary, as the fines contained in the
feed material can pass smoothly through the crushing tools.

Due to the low circumferential speed and crushing tooth configuration, the
final product is of high quality. Furthermore, the low speed of the crushing
rolls results in low fines content in the final product. Thus, the wear rate is
considerably lower, and costs for operation and spare parts are kept to a
minimum.

HOUSING (1)
Simple, very compact, sturdy and reliable design
The amply-dimensioned bearings of the crushing rolls are
arranged in the front walls of the housing
The housing is fixed on a steel frame or concrete foundation

CRUSHING ROLLS (2)

The rolls consist of the bearings and shafts, which are fitted with easily
replaceable crushing segments/picks made of wear-resistant material.
Partial hard-facing increases wear life of the crushing tools
The staggered and helical arrangement of the crushing tools allows
continuous material feed as well as batch processing. The feed material is
evenly distributed over the whole width of the crushing rolls due to the
special tooth configuration. This is important in order to achieve high
throughput capacities. Furthermore, uniform wear attained in the feed-
ing area results in a longer lifetime of the wear parts

DRIVE (3)
The drive consists of the mechanical coupling, gearbox, fluid-starter
coupling and motor
The drive as well as the complete sizer are designed for
auto-reverse operation. In case of overload, the sizer is
equipped with an automatic control unit to avoid damages
resulting from overload or caused by foreign particles contained in
the feed material
