Learning Outcomes: By the end of this lesson students will be able to:

Engage in a variety of listening contexts to develop knowledge and understanding.


Understand and follow simple instructions.
Participate in a range of conversations.
Understand, write, and say imperative verbs.

Resources: Preparation (what do you need to do/make before


class?)
-Laminated word cards with pictures: Throw,
Catch, Roll, Hit, Kick, Bounce, Ball. - Print the worksheets and laminate them.
- Make sure the audio and projector are working.
- White board and markers. - Make sure that I have all the resources in class.
Key vocabulary/ Target Language
- A small rubber ball, box, and a bat.
- New vocabulary words: Ball, Throw, Catch,
Roll, Kick, Hit, Bounce, Bat, Box.
- Activity Book.
- Students will use those 6 imperative verbs in
different actions.
- Learners Book.

- Projector.

- Computer.

Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

- Start the class by greeting the students and asking them questions such as: What day is it
today? And what is the date?
Time: 10 mins
Whole

- Sing the days of the week song.

- Make the students do some warm ups (by moving their body).

- Ask them to line up and sit on the carpet (circle time).


Guided Experience (group working with the teacher)

- Speaking: Show the students the rubber ball and ask them what do they do with it, and what
kind of games do they play with it.

- Speaking and listening: Make them look at the word cards on the board and listen to me
saying the 6 words while doing the action using the ball, bat and box. (throw, bounce, roll, hit,
kick, catch) and make them repeat after me.

- While the projector is on and on page 50 in the learners book I will put on the audio and
make them listen to the poem. After that, let them repeat and clap.

- Ask the students to get back to their seats.

- Listening Activities:

Pre: Tell the students to listen to the audio once and then point to the corresponding
people in the picture.
Time:

While: Turn on the audio, and pause after each line to get the students answer.

Post: Discuss all the answers.

Independent Experience (small groups activity 1)


- Let the students open their activity book on page 40, activity 1.

- Focus on the pictures, and let students find the correct action word in the word box.

- Learners will write the word in the correct sentence.

Closing

- Clap 3 times to end the activities and let the students focus on me.

Ask the students questions like:

- Who can tell me what are the new words you learnt today?

- Give them a worksheet as homework, and check it the next day.
