CHAPTER 7: SOCIO-ECONOMIC ASPECT

1. Impact on its Location

The amusement park will play a role to the advancement of Taguig City by

providing both blue collar and white-collar jobs to it and its neighboring cities

constituents. With effective promotions and good service of KidZania Manila, the

city will not just be for professionals but also for kids. The commercial

establishments within KidZanias vicinity will also be enriched due to the additional

foot traffic the park can attract.

2. Government and Taxes

More than 512,000,000 revenues was realized by its Parent company ABS-

CBN from KidZania Manila alone on 2016. Although Play Innovations Inc. suffered

from a net loss because of its expansion efforts during 2013 to 2015, It is now

expected to forward PHP100,000,000 tax to the government in the years 2017-

2020. The company will never resort illegal means of reducing taxes, it will abide

to all the regulations and practice healthy competition. These tax revenues of the

government will fund the much-needed infrastructure spending, health services

and education.
 3. Environmental Impact

KidZania will practice what it teaches to kids. Proper disposal of wastes will

be encouraged in the facilities segregation of garbage and trash bins will be

placed in every corner of the area. To aid in producing environmentally aware

citizens is one of the deemed functions of KidZanias services. Environment-

safekeeping should be of paramount importance to the companys operations.

Plastic usage will be of minimal-zero usage. No harmful substance shall be used

in the operations of the business. The company shall see to it that businesses who

does not tolerate eco-friendly materials will not be their suppliers.

4. Community

School education today in the Philippines does not cover all the essential

knowledge and skills that students have to be geared with before entering the labor

force. Paper and pens do not weight much compared to experiences and

imagination. This is a place where kids creativity is enhanced in every KidZanias

activities in contrast with the notion in school where the standardized curriculum

lessens childs creativity. Recognizing the universality of role-playing, KidZania

Manila uses this concept to let kids learn through personal experience, ignite their

imagination, and make them more receptive to learning. Through early glimpses

of jobs, the kids will have less dilemma in choosing their degree programs in

college and be able to identify what career they will thrive on. The innovative

education also allows adults to have their share of fun and education as the

establishments offer activities for ages of majority.

 Its vision to create a generation with a fully-functional society and law-

abiding citizens who are competitive with their career paths will definitely advance

the civilization to a new level. Being a catalyst for a radical change in education is

more valued by the company than the profits it can earn.

5. Importance to Employees

KidZania Manila guarantees that its employees will be fairly and timely

compensated. The managements duty to motivate employees will not be driven

by authority and force. Workers will be given a security of tenure, as the company

does not have end-of-contract (ENDO) policies. A comprehensive training to

develop passion in work and incorporate the vision of innovative change in

education by the company to its employees will be of most significance. Longtime

employees will be awarded merit for tenure such as life plans, increase in wages

and promotions.

6. Contribution to the Philippine Economy

Economy is widely measured through the countrys Gross Domestic

Product (GDP). KidZania Manila will add up to Philippines GDP as it will be a

rewarding avenue for consumer spending. The company will continue to provide

radical changes in education that its customers will surely patronize. While OFW

remittances and BPO sectors provide the major share in the GDP, Kidzania will

not focus on generating income and put its efforts on the value of its service.
