Revolutionary War
History
5th Grade
After completing this lesson, students will be able to
1) Know the timeline of events/battles of the
Revolutionary War
2) Recognize important individuals in the War, especially
focusing on George Washington.
3) Know the importance of the Revolutionary
The first technology tool im going to use to get the students
engaged is an EdPuzzle video, introducing the Revolutionary
War, giving a brief summary of what its all about.

Next, I will use ThingLink to show the timeline of events from
the Revolutionary War.

I will display the Thinglink on the Screen, and talk about each
point of the timeline and describe each part of the Revolution
in depth. The next tool I will use is StoryBird. On Storybird, I
found a little project someone made with important facts
about George Washington and his contributions to the
Revolutionary War.

For the social media aspect of the lesson, I will ask the
students to choose one event from the war. I then will ask
them to post on our joint Instagram account, a picture of the
event and a brief summary of what happened.
