Performance Expectations

All group members will contribute to written material for each assignment where their input will be
encouraged, heard, and respected as well as be subject to respect the following:
Make decisions in a supportive and professional manner
Avoid any sorts of plagiarism; if this occurs, the one responsible will be subject to firing
Carry tasks by those in their assigned role
Perform assignments diligently
Contribute to scheduled in-person group meetings
Prioritize communication throughout the duration of the project via email and text and be able to
respond within 24 hours
Conflict Resolutions

Team Tryptophan will adhere to the following guidelines from Markels Practical Strategies For Technical
Communication to prevent conflict and ensure efficient collaboration (Markel, 2016, p. 39):
1. Establish the goal and delegate tasks for each member:
a. Collective agreement on the greater task, deadline, and length of works
b. Collective agreement on audience, purpose, and scope
c. Collective agreement on assigned duties
2. Establish working procedures by answering the following:
a. When and where to meet?
b. What procedures to follow during the meetings?
3. Establish a schedule
a. Set minor deadlines before major deadlines

Furthermore, team members will address any conflicts to the project manager or to the group during an in-
person meeting. When a dispute arises, team members must reach an outcome through the four steps of
negotiation (Wolff & Nagy, 2017, Section 6):
1. Understand the conflict
2. Communicate and listen to each team members ideas on the subject matter
3. Find and state areas of agreement
4. Explore solutions together

Group Meetings and Collaboration

Lack of responses within a 24 hour period and meeting absences will be recorded by the Project Manager, and
regarded as a warning strike. Any team member that fails to meet a deadline pertaining to their role will be
subject to address from the Project Manager, or another member of the team. Likewise, lack of contribution or
participation on a written assignment through google doc, which includes iFixit, will be recorded as a strike,
based on the action policy plan. A team member may be allowed one excused absence of a scheduled in-
person meeting, so long as they notify Project Manager 24 hours in advance.

Action Policy Plan

The following steps will take place if a member has failed to comply with the groups expectations after a
three-strike warning policy:
1. Notice of recorded three-strikes will be discussed with Dr. Bruce
2. Notice of recorded additional strike will be discussed with Dr. Bruce
3. Team member will be removed from iFixit Group 2

Note: Due to the seriousness of the event, plagiarism will be deemed as a three-strike act, and Dr. Bruce
must be notified
