Respected Sir,
With reference to above cited subject Computer Engg Dept are wishing to organize
Faculty Development Program on Big Data Analytics on 1st -6th January 2018.
This FDP will be very much beneficial for our faculty knowledge upgrade .We expect
total 35 participants (25 from COMP plus 10 from nearby colleges).
The budget of this FDP is attached with this letter. So we are kindly requesting you that
please sanction the budget of 71,500/- (Seventy One Thousand and Five Hundred Only).

Day 1 INTRODUCTION TO BIG DATA (6 hours)


Introduction distributed file system Big Data and its importance, Four Vs,
Drivers for Big data, Big data analytics, Big data applications. Algorithms usin
g map reduce, Matrix-Vector Multiplication by Map Reduce.
Day 2 INTRODUCTION HADOOP (6 hours)
Big Data Apache Hadoop & Hadoop EcoSystem Moving Data in and out of
Hadoop Understanding inputs and outputs of MapReduce - Data Serialization.
Day 3 - HADOOP ARCHITECTURE (6 hours)
Hadoop Architecture, Hadoop Storage: HDFS, Common Hadoop Shell
commands , Anatomy of File Write and Read., NameNode, Secondary
NameNode, and DataNode.
Day 4 - HADOOP CONFIGURATION (6 hours)
Hadoop MapReduce paradigm, Map and Reduce tasks, Job, Task trackers -
Cluster Setup SSH & Hadoop Configuration HDFS Administering
Monitoring & Maintenance.

Day 5 - HADOOP ECOSYSTEM AND YARN (6 hours)


Hadoop ecosystem components - Schedulers - Fair and Capacity, Hadoop 2.0
New Features- NameNode High Availability, HDFS Federa tion, MRv2, YARN,
Running MRv1 in YARN.
Day 6 - HIVE AND HIVEQL, HBASE (6 hours)
