It is like facebook, allowing students and teachers to post tool about assignments, discussions, etc. The students can also earn badges based on participation, which encourages students to involve themselves with the site. Ideas for how the ENG. SOL 9.4- The student will read, comprehend, and analyze a tool can be used variety of literary texts including narratives, narrative nonfiction, poetry, in PK-12 and drama. -Friendly feud (multiple right answers to one question) can be used through Edmodo. The teacher can post a question about the text read with answers which are all right without informing the students of multiple right answers. The students can then pick the answer they find most correct and most their reason why. This creates a friendly debate/ collaboration between students. This can be assigned as homework to do at home and then discussed further in class. SCI SOL 5.5- The student will investigate and understand that organisms are made of one or more cells and have distinguishing characteristics that play a vital role in the organisms ability to survive and thrive in its environment. -The teacher assigns students a part of the cell to go home and research. The student then posts his or her information on Edmodo for the class to see. The students can then build collaborative notes of the whole cell(s). This creates collaborative notes and allows the students to experience instruction and explanation from peers rather than teachers. WG SOL 2- The student will analyze how selected physical and ecological processes shape the Earths surface. -The teacher will assign the students to create questions with answers on the topics discussed throughout the section during class time. The teacher will then use Edmodo to create a quiz out of the questions for the students to go home and take as a review before the test on the subject.
