I would argue that the first and the last are two sides of the same
archetype.

In my experience I have found two main archetypes among fighting

game players, the 'Feely' players, and the 'Control' players.

Traditionally, Feely players are the more common/dominant type you

chosen game rewards players for it, or if there is a particular character
that works extremely effectively with that style e.g. 3rd Strike Chun Li.

Actually, i'm the same as you---except for the 'bad' part :) I love
SNK games not only for the backstory/relations of the casts, but
playing aggresively and doing reads with my opponents...make
me feel like i'm living out their anime/manga story! *Guess that

Scientific and precise planning is the best. Fighting for every millimetre
of space on the screen with everything you've got. Never guessing
with insufficient information. Making sure to keep your cool and focus
on learning from every round.
When you're not thinking you're not playing. Fun comes from getting
past the limits of your knowledge and adapting.

I'd group the 3 types of fighting gamers as: people who want to be
good at fighting games, people who think they're good at fighting
games, and people who are actually good at fighting games. :D

become more heart. I think ultimately players should strive for the
oneness of all these qualities.
