Objective
My goal in teaching physical education is to teach students not only how to become better students in
school, but to teach them the skills they need to achieve life long fitness so that they can live the longest,
healthiest life they can live.

Experience
Cabrini Elementary and Middle School Substitute Spring 2017
During the second semester of the 2016-2017 school year, I would substitute at Allen Park Cabrini
Elementary Middle School for Physical Education. The teacher there was involved in field trips as well as
professional development when I would substitute. I was also in charge of facilitating the schools End of
Year Field Day, which required improvisation due to weather.

Student Teaching August 2017-December 2017

During the Fall of 2017, I student taught in the Dearborn Public School District. I was placed at two schools:
River Oaks Elementary and the Michael Berry Center. At River Oaks, I taught Pre-Kindergarten through fifth
grade and the units lessons focused on locomotor skills and soccer skills. At the Michael Berry Center, I
taught STEM, ACE, and MAGNET students the concluding lessons of the soccer unit and a life fitness unit.
The teachers that I worked under allowed me to have a great deal of independence which allowed me
to get experience in classroom management techniques.

Education
Cabrini High School August 2009-June 2013
I attended Cabrini High School, which is a Catholic high school in Allen Park, Michigan. I was a three sport
athlete playing baseball, basketball, and football. I was a four year varsity football player and two-time
captain. I was also involved in the Students for Life club and Student Council. I became a leader in my
high school years and gained a lot of experience through my athletics and social clubs.

Wayne State University (Detroit, MI) August 2013-December 2017

I just recently obtained my Bachelors of Liberal Arts Degree from Wayne State University School of
Education with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Health Education. My GPA was a 3.34.

Awards and Related Experiences

SHAPE Michigan Major of the Year

In October of 2017, I was awarded the SHAPE Michigan Major of the Year award, which is given to
Physical Education majors who best exemplify what it means to be a Physical Education major, both in the
collegiate classroom but also outside of school, such as coaching or student teaching experiences. It is
recommended by the awardees professors and departmental advisors.

Lincoln Park Varsity High School Defensive Coordinator and Asst. Head Coach Fall 2017

During the 2017 high school football season, I was hired as the varsity defensive coordinator at Lincoln
Park High School. My responsibilities included coordinating the weight room workouts and exercises,
managing and coaching defensive football practices, breaking down and analyzing game film, and
coordinating the defense on game day. My belief as a coach is to build relationships with the student
athletes so that I can better understand and coach them not only about the game of football but in life
as well.

Detroit Loyola Junior Varsity Defensive Coordinator and Varsity Asst. Coach Fall 2016

During the 2016 high school football season, I was hired as the junior varsity defensive coordinator and
also assisted on the varsity level as a defensive coach. My responsibilities included coordinating the
weight room workouts and exercises for the entire program, breaking down and analyzing game film,
coordinating the junior varsity defense on game day, assisting the varsity defensive coordinator at
practice and in games, and developing student athletes to be prepared for the varsity level. I focused on
developing the students skills both physically and mentally on the junior varsity level. On the varsity level, I
would help coach skills one on one with student athletes who needed more direct instruction. The varsity
team ended their season by becoming MHSAA Division 8 State Championship runner-ups.

Cabrini Middle School CYO Football Coach Fall 2013-Fall 2015

As a CYO football coach, my main goal was to teach the young players the safe and proper techniques
and skills of playing football as well as the importance of teamwork. During my time as a coach in this
program, I was an assistant coach to the fifth and sixth grade teams my first two years, and the head
coach of the seventh and eighth grade team my final year. I did not focus on our record, but the progress
of the athletes skills and love of the game.
