RBI, RCM, FFS, NDT & Vibration Analysis
KALMAR is engaged in providing consultancy in all areas which come under the scope of Mechanical
Integrity, as per clients desire and requirements. Our clientage consists of Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical and
all process industry.

RBI, RCM, FFS, NDT Services (conventional & advanced) and Vibration Analysis are being provided
frequently to our valued clients by qualified and experienced professionals

Risk Based Inspection (RBI)

RBI is an approach to prioritize inspection in all process industries and especially for Oil & Gas sector, in
order to analyze the probability and consequence of failure of an asset to calculate its risk of failure. The
intensity of risk is used to develop a prioritized inspection plan for the asset.
RBI study has become an essential tool for Oil platforms, Refineries, Exploration & Production units,
Industrial pipe work, process systems, pipelines, structures and many other types of assets in the
industries.

RBI is an effective tool and has advantage over conventional inspection by applying strategy confirming
what exactly needed for safeguarding integrity. It improves reliability of the asset by planning and
executing those inspections that are needed.

Reliability Centered maintenance (RCM)

RCM, a tool to achieve safe minimum levels of maintenance and establish maintenance plans. Effective
implementation of RCM will lead to increase in cost effectiveness, machine uptime, and a greater
understanding of the level of risk that company is presently managing. It allows assessing and
understanding the working of their equipment.
At first stage RCM process identifies the operating context of the machinery, and writes a Failure Mode
Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA). The later stage of the analysis is to apply the "RCM logic", which
helps determine the appropriate maintenance tasks for the identified failure modes in the FMECA.
Fitness for Service (FFS)
Fitness for Service (FFS) holds variety of services that are performed effectively to evaluate structural
integrity. Dependable solutions are provided on the basis of evaluation that is financially feasible &
structurally sound and improves safety, reliability and profitability of the equipment.

FFS evaluation is carried out, by addressing complete range of flaws that might bring your equipments at risk, usually
on Pressure Vessels, Storage Tanks, Piping, Heat exchangers and specialized equipments. Evaluation is performed
as per API, ASME and applicable codes

Vibration Analysis
Vibration Analysis is the most commonly used method for condition monitoring in rotating
machines. Measurements are usually taken on machine bearing casings. The level of vibration is
compared with baseline values and established standards, to determine severity of the case.

Vibration analysis and interpreting the vibration data is a complicated process that requires
special training and experience. Frequencies and amplitudes from the vibration signal are
examined. These frequencies correspond to certain malfunctions such as shaft unbalance or
misalignment.

Solution is recommended after examining these frequencies and their amplitudes; we can identify the
location, type, and seriousness of the problem is identified and recommends action before a failure.
Comprehensive Dynamic Balancing services are managed by KALMAR.

Unbalance is a condition where mass of rotating part's mass does not lie at the center of rotation and
hence increases the significance of vibration which may lead to the damage or reduce the life of the
equipment by shortening the life of the bearings

Dynamic Balancing in the field - in the rotors existing bearings and mounting structure with process
variables taken into consideration will usually have a better end result.

Non-Destructive Test (NDT)/Trainings and EVENT Management

KALMAR offers conventional and specialized NDT

services as per ASNT standards with high degree of
quality, enabling our clients to minimize the
maintenance with enhancement of safety

Advance NDT is available by providing Time of

diffraction (TOFD) technique to examine welds in
pressure vessels and pipes without barricading of
ongoing project

ASNT level I & II (RT, UT, MT and PT), API certified &
awareness trainings (for API codes 510, 653, 570 & 580) and CSWIP awareness and
preparations trainings are also managed.

KALMAR conducts all kind of Engineering/Technical trainings as per clients requirements

Inspection of Lifting Equipments & Gears

KALMAR provides Inspection, Testing and certification of all kind of Lifting Equipments/Gears.
Inspection is carried out in accordance with LEEA standard by certified and experienced
inspectors

Awareness and certification trainings are conducted to the end users of lifting equipments/gears
in order to keep working environment safe. Such sessions are necessary to avoid damage of
equipments and allow pointing out safety hazard associated with operations
Vendor/Third Party Inspection & Expediting services

Vendor Inspection or Third party Inspection among the core activities of KALMAR. Complete range
of engineering equipments are inspected at vendors works as per relevant engineering standards
along with parameters given by Client
Expediting services are also offered at vendor site for all kind of Maintenance and
Mechanical/Electrical Construction work. It is ensured that performed activities are as per
standards and fulfill the requirement of service order.
KALMAR is capable to perform such inspection worldwide by internationally reputed icon, with
which we have agreement to facilitate us for vendor Inspection and Expediting services. Credible
inspectors are deployed (relevant for that particular job) to carry out inspection.
