Sentence
Definition: a meaningful group of words, which serves as a unit of expression.
Compound sentence : with more than one conjugated verb, with or without a conjunction (but a
punctuation mark), containing two or more independent clauses.
Cathy has been to Europe so many times ; she is always fond of travelling. (punctuation)
Cathy has been to Europe so many times; therefore, she knows about a lot of major cities
there. (conjunctive adverb)
Cathy has been to Europe so many times, so she knows about a lot of major cities
there. (coordinative conjunction)
Complex sentence : with a main clause and an dependent (or subordinate) clause, with two or more
verbs (each verb is for each clause)
Types: Noun clause (to complete the verb of the main clause)
