Gathering information is a critical step in making an effective career decision. Considering all the
knowledge you now possess about yourself and possible careers, narrow your list to a few careers you
would like to explore further. Use the resources in the toolkit to complete this exercise. Do not limit
yourself to the information requested. Add information if it is helpful to you.

The goal of this exercise is for you to take time to explore careers in depth and add this career knowledge
to your self-knowledge to further your career journey. Ask yourself, Can I really see myself in this
career? Would I be passionate about my career or would it just be a job? If applicable, how does your
military experience fit into these careers?

There are many helpful career exploration websites mentioned in Chapter 7. Below is a listing of a few of
those sites and some more to explore to find out about careers you are interested in. Be looking for
information such as job description, educational requirements, skills needed, average salary, job outlook
etc.
