AUTO RECLOSURE FUNCTION

Autorecloser : the External block mean we can Block the function by Extrenal Command.
so we have to assign binary input to Block 79 .after enegrizng this input the ARC will
move to Lock state . With going on the 79 Sequence.

Dead times: Autorecloser can be intiaited internally by any protection element trip
( phase o.c & Earth Fault ) or through input ( externally through any protection element)
C.B status through Aux Contacts ( 52a- 52b).

when The dead times Start?

easily we can say the Dead times Satrts ( Td1- Td2- Td3) when the Pre- Assigned Binary
input to 52a is de-energized.+ the internal Protection thershold Reset .
it means that the C.B has been tripped.

C.B status:
52a is high Breaker is Closed + 52b is Low Breaker is Close
52bis high Breaker is open+ 52b is Low Breaker is open

we have time window of 50 ms this time window starts in same time of Td1 but if the
Protection Thershold is Excceded during this 50 ms the relay will go to block State.

Recliam Time: this time will start with the Closing command launching to C.B and with
Energizing the Binary input 52a that means C.B closed.

When the close command is launched we have another timer of tclose Pulse this timer
will start counting and if this timer elapsed before the 52a status change from low to high
auto recloser function will move to lock-out status.

During this recliam time if the C,B status change From close to open the ARC will move to
lock out status if non protection functiom picksup to its threshold values.
if it is expired the ARC will Reset and cannot start again with no problems.

Inhibt Timer: this timer will start when the C.B is manually closed and it will inhibt ARC to
Reclose the Breaker if the C.B is switched on to fault.

Extrenal Starting For Auto Reclosure:

the relay will start automatically by an external input when the Following Conditions are
Present .
52a is Low- De-energized.+ 52b is High - Energized. + no lock outconditions
Lock-out conditions:
Any opening command launched to the CB
Residual Over-voltage trip (59N)
Negative sequence overcurrent trip (46)
Thermal overload trip (49)
Maximum setting number of autoreclose cycles achieved
Setting for any protection = 0
Trip of CB fail (52BF)
TCS (Trip circuit supervision)
Diagnostic of the CB - ( C.B Failure)- SF6 low.
If on trip protection the CB opening signal (52a) is lacking, after a
fixed time out of 2.00 s at 50 Hz or 1.67 s at 60 Hz, the ARC resets to the initial status.
If on trip protection the 52a signal changes status but the protection threshold trip
stands the tD timer will start when the protection trip threshold will disappear.

Recliam Time
When the Dead time Expires the relay will launch C.B closing Command Via the Output Relay
which is configured to > C.B Closing .
after the Breaker Closed the Relay binary input which is configured to > 52a Status must be Changed
From Low --------> High that means that C.B Closed . At the Same time the Relay will start Counting
the Recliam Time IF THE C.B STATUS IS NOT CHANGED AND THE RECLIAM TIME IS EXPIRED
THE RELAY WILL MOVE TO LOCK-OUT STATUS. AUTO-RECLOSURE IS BLOCKED

What Does it mean that Auto-Reclosure Run or 79 Run ?

THE RELAY WILL ISSUE THIS INFORMATION IF THE DEAD TIME IS IN PROGRESS OR THE
RECLIAM TIME IS IN PROGRESS ALSO.
IF THE RECLIAM IS EXPIRED THE 79 RUN INFORMATION WILL RESET AND THE RELAY WILL GO
TO LOCK-OUT STATUS IF THE C.B NOT CLOSED.

How to measure the Recliam time ?

Using SVERKER Dual Timer ( Start - Stop )
1- Start the SVERKER Timer with Same time of intiation of Auto- Reclosure
2- Configure Contact For 79 Run To Stop the Timer When it is Opened
( same intiate Signal to79)
Run79 dead time
Recliam Time.

What Is The inhibit Time ?

This Time is Referring that When the C.B is -Closed Externally - From Binary Input or From MANUAL
CLOSING command the Relay Will Start Counting The Inhibit Time .
During this Time Relay will Block Auto-Reclosure And it Will Reset After this Time Expired

NOTE : To Measure This Time Same As Before

1- Start the SVERKER timer With Closing Pulse of the Bistable Relay
2- Stop The Timer by the Contact 79 Trip when it is Opened
