Question: What are some causes of poverty in Egypt?

Summary:
The main causes of poverty in Egypt are overpopulation and corruption in country. For
overpopulation, when the amount of people increase, the income of the country and the product will
be decrease and not enough for people in the country. This causes people have to fight for
themselves but due to the amount of people that increase every year, they wont het much develop.
Because of this, it make the one who poor still or even more poor. Another cause that effect a lot on
the problems of poverty is corruption which the major on is corruption of President Mubarak. Due to
this corrupted, Egypt lost lots amount of money that can be used to develop the country and help the
poor areas. It makes Egypt lost their benefit on the Economic and become bad. Also because of
Mubaraks corruption, Egypt has the conflict, called Egypt revolution, which it destroy and make the
country being develop slower.
Analysis and Opinion:
There are many causes of poverty in Egypt but the mains are overpopulation and corruption
which is mostly found in lots of countries. This can related to what we have learnt on the rise of
population and the cycle of society. In the part of rise of population, if there are more people in country
or the ares, the money and product will not be enough for everyone. Also works and the level in
society which will be more separate. Furthermore, because of these, poor people will still be poor
while the rich one will become more richer. In my opinion, we should have the strict punishment that
be able to force people to do in the right way and not go over others right. It will be great if the one we
choose to control or take care of the country have quality and be able to drive us to the better way.

Question: What are effects of poverty in Egypt?
Summary:
The poverty can affect Egypt many ways but mostly it will causes the country to develop slower
by the effects will be similar or same as other general country that is occur. To be more precise, due to
the causes, which is overpopulation, the products and other materials that is needed in everyday life
are not enough. When the products are not enough, it can causes people, especially children to be
malnutrition as well as other disorder and low birthweight. As we already know that poor people will
have less chance than other which this cause them to receive less opportunities to study. And these
make the country to lack of knowledge due to the number of poor people who have none knowledge
more than half of the country which make the country develop slower than it should be. The amount of
homeless people also increase due to the cost of things that are higher.
Analysis and Opinion:
In my opinion, the effect of poverty in every countries will go in the same ways which is the
country develop slower. It will be better if the government of each country be able to organise their
country and give them the education so they got more people to work and develop the country. We
should decreases the important of classes or level in the country (or decrease the inequality) in our
society, so that the one that have abilities or qualities will have more chance to how and help

Question: How Egypt deal with the problems of poverty?
Summary:
Egyptain government create new policy (or program) by make their goal to develop their
country within year 2030. This called Egypts Vision 2030 or Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS).
SDS is the long-term plan which will improve the country and peoples life by 2030 which having the
development dimensions on social, economic and environmental.
There are also another organiser that come and help Egypt such as UNDP (United Nations
Development Programme) and WFP (World Food Programme). These organiser come to help to
promote, donate, and plan for the better life of poor people in Egypt. They also create the jobs more
for people to work and earn money.
Analysis and Opinion:
In my opinion, poverty is the problem that we can found commonly in almost every country in
the world. It is very hard for the us to deal with the problem which is too big to solve. For me, it is a
very good idea that Egyptian government set their goal clearly and have the possible policy to deal
with the problem which will slowly change things by things. Furthermore, I think we can create more
other policies such as having the laws with strict punishment due to the problems of corruption, one of
the causes of poverty, that occurred a lot.

Question: Where (city or province) is the problem worse in Egypt?
Summary:
There are many city in Egypt that have the problem of poverty which are located on the lower
parts on Egypt which the top 2 cities are Assiout and Sohag.
Assiout is directly next to Nile River but it cannot produce much result and the weather are hot
and drought. It can be said that Assiout is the country with the highest amount of poor people due to
the research that show the number of people which are 1,436,795 people in year 2007.
For Sohag, the city that is also located directly next to Nile River (bellow Assiout) providing
resource to do agriculture, is one of the cities in Egypt that has a lot of poverty problems. Base on data
table, it is shown that the density of population per area of Sohag is high whereas the people suffering
poverty is one of the highest in the country which reached approximately 1,268,608 people in 2007
and the problems remain unsolved. Sohag also overpopulate which the density of population keep
increasing every year. Furthermore, there are the problems of corruption from the President
Mumbarak, revolution, and the economic problems which causes Egypt being suffering from poverty.
Analysis and Opinion:
The problems of poverty that are occurred in Egypt are mostly be found in the lower part of the
country. And there having the similar causes of poverty in the cities which are mainly overpopulation. I
think the reason of overpopulation in these cities are because they were located directly next to the
main river that pass the country, especially Sohag the only cities that providing resource for product.
We may decrease this problem of overpopulation Egypt by having the birth-control. We can also
organised and having the new plan for the city which can having in 2 main things. The first one is that
build the condominium that can contain lots of people, so everyone have the living area in case of
cannot control the amount of population. Another one is for the one who need the resource and
product by we will provide the area for villagers near the river that has resources and having the house
nearby.
