website to answer worksheets as well as answer a Kahoot quiz.

ISTE Learning Standards

1. Empowered Learner
Students leverage technology to take an active role in choosing, achieving and
demonstrating competency in their learning goals, informed by the learning sciences.
Students:

C: use technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their practice and to demonstrate
their learning in a variety of ways.

of Bunker Hill based on a photo of the Battle of Bunker Hill.

DEVELOPMENTAL PROCEDURES
(including Key Questions)

Students will begin the lesson by taking part in a TOO reenactment activity on the Battle of
Bunker Hill based off of a picture of the battle (What do you think was going through the minds
of the American soldiers here at Bunker Hill? What about the British soldiers? Even though the
Americans lost, why do you think this battle was still perceived as a victory for the Patriots?).

Students will form up into groups to answer questions based off of an interactive timeline and
the weebly website (What advantages and disadvantages did the Continental Army have? What
advantages and disadvantages did the British Army have? Which battle was a major turning
point for the Patriots? What form of warfare is George Washington and the Continental Army
using?).

Students will take part in a Kahoot Quiz on the battles of the American Revolution (Which battle
was a devastating loss for the Americans? Which battle was known as the shot heard round the
world? Which battle was a loss for the Patriots, but proved they would be a legitimate
opponent? Which battle was the definitive victory for the Continental Army in the War for
Independence?).

Students will take part in a Final Thoughts group discussion (Do you think that the Americans
would have won the war without the French? What is the next step for the United States going
forward? What impact do you think this will have on the rest of the world going forward?).
